ALTINEX ANNOUNCES YZ810-106 VGA + STEREO WALLPLATE WITH LOCAL OUT

Brea, CA – April 2010… Altinex, a leading manufacturer of Modular AV Solutions™, is pleased to announce the YZ810-106 VGA Stereo Wallplate with Local Out. Further expanding the company’s popular Showtime AV presentations systems, the YZ810-106 is a convenient add-on/option for computer connectivity.

The Altinex YZ810-106 is designed to make the process of connecting a desktop computer to one’s AV presentation system quick and easy. The wallplate enables video and audio from a computer to be presented through the Showtime system. The audio input uses a 3.5 mm mini jack (typically used on both laptop and desktop computers) and the video input is a standard 15-pin HD female connector. The RGBHV computer video signals are combined and output over conventional CAT 5 cables attached to the rear of the unit inside the wall. Additionally, the new YZ810-106 features a loop out for a local VGA display—enabling the instructor, for example, to use their own monitor while the class watches a large screen display.

As the YZ810-106 is designed to interface with Altinex Showtime presentation system, the unit receives power from the Showtime switcher, so no external power is required. There is a Power/Signal Present LED on the wallplate’s front panel. The LED is on and red if the unit has power. The LED changes from red to green when a valid computer video signal is present.

Phil Hale, Altinex Vice President of Sales and Marketing, commented on the company’s new YZ810-106 VGA Stereo Wallplate with Local Out. “Our new YZ810-106 wallplate is a terrific accessory item for users of our value-packed, feature-rich Showtime AV presentation systems,? said Hale. “Not only does this unit make the process of patching a desktop computer into the presentation system quick and easy, it’s built in 1 X 2 distribution amplifier, or splitter, facilitates the use of a second display monitor. This way, the instructor needn’t be turning around to see what the class is viewing. By having a second monitor conveniently positioned at their computer, the instructor is able to better focus on the material being presented without the distraction and inconvenience of always having to look over one’s shoulder. As an expert in presentation systems, Altinex continues to look for ways to simplify AV presentations while lessening the burden of technical support on our dealers. I’m confident educators and installers alike will find the new YZ810-106 a compelling accessory.?

The YZ810-106 VGA Stereo Wallplate with Local Out is available now. MSRP Price: $300.
