Harvelle’s in Santa Monica, Calif., is the oldest live music venue on the westside. Established in 1931, Harvelle’s is the neighborhood place where music lovers gather to hear eclectic styles of music every night of the week, from jazz and hip hop to reggae, funk, blues, and acoustic performances by singer/songwriters. The venue is also home to The Toledo Show, the longest running soul/jazz/cabaret show in the Los Angeles area.

With so many demands on the sound system, Harvelle’s turned to Fulcrum Acoustic to find the loudspeaker that had the perfect balance of power output, vocal clarity, and size. “We had a really old sound system that had run for years. I always wanted something different but there was nothing on the market that had the output to cover the room in the size I needed,� explains David Ormesher, general manager and managing partner for Harvelle’s.

Ormesher, who also mixes live acts at the club several nights a week, heard the Fulcrum Acoustic Prophile M loudspeakers through a demonstration from L.A. nightclub guru John Lyons and was instantly convinced that it was the right solution for his needs. The dual 12 inch, 3-way coaxial M loudspeaker was small enough (measuring 15.4 x 30.0 x 18.0 in) to hang from above the stage without interfering with sight lines

, yet was powerful enough to cover the 65 foot throw from the stage to the back wall. The 75.5 lb. enclosure is also light enough that Ormesher installed a pair of M loudspeakers himself in very little time.

The 150 person capacity venue is now even more of a draw, offering top notch entertainment paired with a top-notch sound system. “The Fulcrum Acoustic M loudspeakers have great coverage,� says Ormesher. “I would recommend them to anybody.�
