Cisco Digital Media System Relies on Tripp Lite Solutions

Chicago, IL (April 29, 2010)–Tripp Lite is proud to announce that its power and network control solutions have been selected by Cisco Systems, Inc. to protect its Digital Media System technology for digital signage and related applications. Tripp Lite UPS Systems, Power Distribution Units (PDUs), KVM Switches and accessories are deployed with the Digital Media System unit at San Jose, California, which is used for demonstrations to customers and salespeople.

Cisco’s investment in Tripp Lite power protection for the Digital Media System paid off when a power problem occurred during a demonstration. “We experienced a ten-minute power outage in the middle of a demonstration,? said Senior Sales Engineer Kai Chung. “But Tripp Lite’s UPS systems saved the day. They immediately provided battery power to connected servers and other equipment, so that the demonstration was able to continue without interruption.?

“We’re excited to be working with Cisco to provide power protection, power distribution and system control solutions for Digital Media System,? said Tripp Lite Vice President Dave Lund. “The sophisticated servers and related components that support this technology demand the highest, most reliable level of power protection and support. Working closely with Cisco’s team, we have been able to develop a solution that fully meets the needs of Digital Media System.?
