The State Assembly Hearing Room in the historic Rhode Island Statehouse was fitted with a new sound reinforcement system featuring the recently introduced CX896 8-inch coaxial loudspeaker from Fulcrum Acoustic.

Previously, the hearing room in the east wing of the 106 year-old structure had been plagued by poor intelligibility and severe feedback. The sound system was often turned off as a consequence, meaning there was no audio feed available for Capitol TV. The new system installed by AV Design Build, of Boston, eliminated these problems by incorporating 4 wall-mounted CX896 loudspeakers. The well-defined 90° x 60° coverage pattern of the CX896 allowed both the legislators’ dais and the gallery to be well-covered, while minimizing leakage into the witness microphones. more
