An iPhone / iPad application for remotely interfacing with Alcorn McBride’s Pro line of show controllers.

Orlando, Florida – Alcorn McBride Inc. (InfoComm booth C5674) has announced the release of its new iPhone/iPad interface application – UDP Remote – for use with the company’s Pro line of Show Controllers. The new app allows users to create on-screen buttons to start sequences, turn on/off an output or set a variable.

“UDP Remote is a great solution for installers and end users who are looking for a way to remotely trigger show control sequences for operational or maintenance purposes,� said Jeremy Scheinberg, Alcorn McBride COO. “For example, a technician may want the ability to put the lighting and sound into a particular state in order to maintain the system. Rather than having to go back to the equipment room to put the show into a special mode or having to install a special maintenance control panel, the technician could use the UDP Remote app to turn on a specific fixture or run an entire show sequence.� Scheinberg says technicians could completely customize the buttons for their specific needs.

UDP Remote can also be used as a basic operator interface to provide a mobile Operator Control Console (OCC). The operator can interact with the audience and then start the show without being tied down to a specific OCC location. This can encourage show operators and designers to create a more interactive presentation.

UDP Remote is designed to work with Alcorn McBride’s V16 Pro and V4 Pro show controllers. The embedded controllers feature an abundance of features including multiple serial ports, dual Ethernet, timecode, real-time clock scheduler and multitasking. The application is available for download from the App Store (Utilities category) for the iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch.
