GEPCO DEBUTS MODULAR HYBRID FIBER & TRIAX PANEL SYSTEMS AT INFOCOMM 2010

Gepco’s HMP8 Modular Panel System

Gepco’s HMP8 Modular Panel System

DES PLAINES, ILLINOIS, MAY 5, 2010 — Gepco International (Booth C6926), an industry leader in professional audio and video interconnect products, will debut the HMPF and HMP8 Modular Hybrid Fiber & Triax Panel Systems at InfoComm 2010 in Las Vegas June 9–11. Commonly used for machine room patching of multiple camera positions to available camera control units (CCU), the HMPF and HMP8 Panel Systems are designed to provide a completely configurable and electrically isolated connector mounting solution for hybrid fiber and triax connectors in a 2RU frame.

With the HMPF and HMP8 Panel Systems, up to seven (HMPF) or eight (HMP8) triax and/or hybrid fiber connectors can be mounted in various combinations to completely customize the interface panel for each system. The all-metal frame for each panel is angled to reduce the bend radius and clearance required for the interfacing cables. The nonconductive plastic modules provide electrical isolation between connectors, and are available in four types for the HMPF (SMPTE 304M, Kings® Tri-Loc®, Neutrik® opticalCON® and blank) and in five types for the HMP8 (SMPTE 304M, ADC® ProAx® plug and jack, Neutrik® opticalCON® and blank). Unused positions are filled with blank modules that can later be removed and expanded with additional triax or hybrid fiber connectors. For further customization, optional rear cable management breakout or lacing bar panels can be attached to the either frame to provide additional security and strain relief for hybrid fiber pigtail breakout cables.

“Both the HMPF and HMP8 modular panel systems allow for flexibility to expand your system at a later date as well as the ability to incorporate different types of connectors within the same panel, making them completely configurable,? said Joe Zajac, Manager, Gepco® Brand Product Engineering & Operations.
