Haivision Products at InfoComm 2010:

VF iControl(TM) for iPhone(R)/iPad(TM)
VF iControl(TM) is an iPhone(R)/iPad(TM) application that allows mobile device users to apply metadata (HotMarks(TM)) and tag live video in real time, as it is recorded by Haivision’s Furnace IP video delivery system. VF iControl dramatically simplifies the recording of live events while enabling tagging, reviewing, and publishing the live video to the Furnace Media Server VoD system for secure review or playback anywhere. By providing intelligent control over intelligent video and bringing greater ease and convenience to viewing and enriching media, the new app makes Haivision’s powerful Furnace IP video delivery system even more valuable and useful to clients working in virtually any environment.

Furnace v5.5
The newly updated Furnace version 5.5 is a complete solution for end-to-end HD H.264 video-over-IP distribution. The powerful integrated solution supports the compact Makito(TM) HD H.264 to manage and distribute live video to computers and set-top boxes, to create scheduled playback channels for enterprise TV and signage, and to record content and deliver video-on-demand in a secure, easy-to-use system. Haivision’s Furnace Portal Server controls the direct and secure distribution of SD and HD H.264 video to both the “zero-footprint” InStream(TM) player and the Stingray(TM) set-top box; the Furnace Playback Manager supports scheduled channels for IP video broadcast and signage; and the Furnace Media Server leverages the efficiencies of H.264 to enable HD video-on-demand (VoD).

The new Furnace supports inline metadata (HotMarks(TM)), allowing users to tag video moments with freeform data while recording. HotMarks can be applied directly to the video asset during the recording process either through the Web interface or via third-party control systems. This implementation of referential data empowers media organizations to control and make the most out of their video assets. The Furnace has also been enhanced with new network video recording (NVR) functionalities including API-enabled management, ad hoc recording and pause/resume recording, bookmark insertion with annotations, and publishing. The Haivision system further supports delivery of intelligent video with the addition of multistream viewing enhancements, a live closed-captioning trigger, and additional security functions.

Makito(TM) Decoder
At InfoComm 2010, Haivision will highlight the latest Makito(TM) Decoder, an H.264 decoder that supports video up to 1080p60. When paired with the very popular Makito HD H.264 encoder, this system provides low-latency decoding and efficient delivery of HD video via HD-SDI or HDMI output. Sharing the space-saving, mini-blade form factor and low power requirements of the Makito encoder, this new product is an optimal solution for medical and military applications seeking a professional-grade, low-latency, high-performance video decoding solution.

New Version! Stingray(TM) Set-Top Box
Haivision will demonstrate at InfoComm 2010 a new model of the Stingray(TM) set-top box in an even more compact form factor and with a broader range of format support. The Stingray supports all of the core features of Haivision’s “zero footprint” InStream(TM) player to enable intuitive and convenient video playout on large-screen displays. The set-top box now provides HDMI, in addition to its component analog (Y, Pb, Pr) and composite outputs. It is also equipped with dual Ethernet network interfaces to offer enhanced support for streaming and data networking. The Stingray set-top box is fully integrated within the Furnace, enabling streamlined command and control and facilitating flexible delivery of services such as VoD.

Makito(TM) HD H.264 Encoder With Component Analog and DVI Inputs
Haivision will also showcase the latest Makito(TM) HD video encoder, which now supports both component analog and DVI inputs. The Makito represents the first and only full-featured high-performance compact encoder to combine the efficiencies of H.264 video compression and the image quality of full HD video within a very small form factor at a very competitive price point.

The revolutionary Makito encoding system delivers low-latency, full-frame-rate H.264 encoding of HD video up to 1080p60, or computer graphics resolutions up to 1280×1024 75Hz (SXGA). The Makito incorporates HiLo-Streaming(TM), the ability to encode once and emit both high- and low-bandwidth streams simultaneously, and Multi-Streaming, the ability to send streams with different IP encapsulation to different destinations. When integrated with the Furnace IP video system, the Makito also distributes 100 percent secure and robust video. The Makito offers the most efficient and affordable distribution, capture, and rebroadcast of HD video.

Ruggedized HD H.264 for Airborne Video — Makito AIR(TM)
The Makito AIR(TM), a ruggedized version of Haivision’s Makito for airborne video, is targeted to military, homeland security, and law enforcement applications. Features include added real-time metadata (KLV and CoT) support, operation with MIL-STD connectors, and compliance with stringent DO-160 specifications.

MB6 High-Density Six-Slot Chassis
The six-slot MB6 chassis holds up to six Makito(TM) or Barracuda(TM) encoders in just a single rack unit. The hot-swappable design of the system allows for various configurations with any combination of Makito encoders, Makito decoders, or Barracuda encoders to meet any video distribution needs and support fast deployments in even the most space-constrained installations.
