Kungsbacka, Sweden, June 2010 – Infocomm 2010 will see the first Las Vegas showing of the full production version of the Lake LM 26 Digital Audio Loudspeaker processor. LM 26 is the first of what will be a range of Lake-branded products to be introduced since Lab.gruppen’s acquisition of the brand in 2008. The move emphasises the company’s commitment to Lake technology, which has been incorporated in Lab.gruppen’s PLM™ Series of Powered Loudspeaker Management™ systems since 2007.

The LM 26 is a full-featured 2-in/6-out Digital Audio Loudspeaker processor in a compact 1U frame. It offers seamless compatibility with the PLM Series as well as with all Dolby® Lake® Processors and earlier versions of the technology, including Lake Mesa Quad EQ™ and Lake Contour Pro 26™. The LM 26’s easily programmable EQ and delay capabilities allow rapid configuration for use as a processor and line driver for self-powered loudspeaker systems as well as for systems with separate power amplifiers.

“The new Lab.gruppen Lake LM 26 gives our customers maximum flexibility to mix and match new and old processors with existing amplifiers or PLM Series units,? says Lab.gruppen CEO, Ulf Larson. “In the touring market it allows operators to optimize performance and efficiency by leveraging their existing inventories, while in the installation market it gives system designers added flexibility to create more cost-effective overall solutions.?

Similar in many respects to the Lake Processing technology currently inside the PLM Series, the LM 26 will accept audio signals as analog, AES digital, or via Audinate®’s advanced Dante™ digital audio network at 48 kHz and 96 kHz sampling rates. Automatic input priority switching may be enabled, and the unit can function as both an input matrix mixer and Dante break-in box.

Exclusive Lake processing features incorporated in the new product design include Raised Cosine Equalization™, linear phase and classical crossovers, LimiterMax™ peak and RMS limiters. A Super Module capability allows flexible grouping of processor channels across separate hardware frames, including prior Lake products and PLM Series units. All functions are controlled via wired or wireless networking by the Windows®-based Lake Controller software application. The hardware unit will utilize a universal power supply with detachable mains cable for use worldwide.

Lake is a universal reference for digital signal processing products. Originally an Australian company, Lake Technology Ltd., the company was acquired in 2003 by Dolby Laboratories. Already an international standard with products like the Lake Contour and Lake Mesa Quad EQ, Dolby took things a stage further with the release of the Dolby Lake Processor (DLP) and the Dolby Lake Controller software which rapidly became de facto industry standards. In 2009, Lake was acquired by Lab.gruppen who now offer a range of stand-alone digital audio loudspeaker processors as well as incorporating Lake technology into a number of their own products. Lab.gruppen is headquartered in Kungsbacka, Sweden, and is part of TC Group International, a Danish holding entity that consists of several companies including TC Electronic, TC-Helicon, and Tannoy.
