Shades of Skin, a popular Christian rock band based in New England, recently kicked off their “Glow in the Dark� tour with loudspeakers by Fulcrum Acoustic. The tour’s inaugural performance was held at Faith Fellowship Church in Uxbridge, Mass., with sound mixing provided by veteran FOH engineer and live sound tech Joe Klein of Corporate Sound in North Attleboro, Mass.

The band features Brian Heil on bass, Steve Stratton on lead guitar and vocals, Matt Rossetti on keyboard and vocals, Ken Kaiser on guitar, and Justin Walker on drums. The band was a winner of the 2004 Palladium Battle of the Bands and made it to the finals in the 2006 Boston Battle of the Bands in Boston, Mass. more

ESCONDIDO, California — Southern California-based Sound Image, Inc., a full-service sound reinforcement provider for four decades, has now joined the short list of North American L-ACOUSTICS K1/KUDO Pilot Program companies.

At the request of Robert Scovill, Tom Petty’s longtime FOH engineer, Sound Image took delivery of L-ACOUSTICS’ K Standard package comprised of 48 K1 and 36 KUDO enclosures, 24 K1-SB and 24 SB28 subs, plus accompanying LA-RAK amplified controller racks. The system is currently in pre-production rehearsals for Petty’s upcoming MOJO Tour, which kicks off on June 1 at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver and treks across the US and Canada through early October. more
