A virtual press conference from Sound & Video Contractor

Sonora, CA – InfoComm booth #C6739… Stewart Audio, manufacturer of the finest quality American made amplifiers for a wide range of sound reinforcement applications, is pleased to introduce the AV30MX-2 and CVA50MX-1 combination mixers/amplifiers. With each model weighing less than 1.5 pounds, these ultra-compact, versatile 2-channel stereo (AV30MX-2) and 4-input Mono (CVA50MX-1) mixers/amplifiers are specifically designed to be located in places typically off limits to more conventional equipment—without compromising performance. These exceptionally well-designed, robust products are ENERGY STAR compliant and incorporate Stewart Audio’s proprietary Signal Sense Power Technology™ (SSPT™) that ensures the amplifier is only powered when there is a signal present—thus saving energy and extending product life.

The new Stewart Audio AV30MX-2 mixer/amplifier is UL2043 Plenum rated and is designed to provide convenience and installation flexibility above the ceiling or in other environmental air spaces. This feature makes it an exceptional choice for being concealed to prevent theft and is particularly useful when space is limited. With available pole and universal mounting brackets, both the AV30MX-2 and CVA50MX-1 can be pole mounted, attached behind flat panel displays, recessed in lecterns, and placed in countless other locations—making them an outstanding choice for countless installations, including presentation spaces, training facilities, and classrooms.

So diminutive in size that it rests comfortably on one’s palm, the quarter-rack sized AV30MX-2 is a 2-channel mixer/amplifier with the ability to output 30 watts on two channels into either 4-ohm or 8-ohm loads. Designed for sonic accuracy, high efficiency, and extended duty cycles, the AV30MX-2 features clean, full, dynamic range power that makes this unit ideal for both background music and speech. The AV30MX-2 offers versatile input options and incorporates dual RCA connectors (channel 1) as well as a TRS (tip-ring-sleeve) 3.5 mm mini jack (channel 2)—enabling, for example, a projector’s audio outputs and a microphone to operate simultaneously. This Class D amplifier provides a Euro Block output connector to the loudspeakers along with LED indicators for power, signal present, and clipping.

Like its sibling, the Stewart Audio CVA50MX-1 is a third-rack-sized device with the ability to be discreetly mounted and kept out of sight. This Mono mixer/amplifier offers selectable output capability. The CVA50MX-1 can output 50 watts into either 4-ohm or 8-ohm loads or can be configured to output 25/70V Constant Voltage for distributed systems. Featuring an adjustable ducking feature (to automatically lower the background music level during paging applications), the CVA50MX-1 provides stereo combining inputs, with all inputs summed to mono. The unit’s inputs include a balanced microphone input, RCA connectors, a TRS 3.5mm mini jack, and a Euro Block. Of particular note, the CVA50MX-1 provides Phantom power for a microphone a on a 3-pin Phoenix connector with an adjustable gain preamplifier. Should the need arise to duplicate signals for use on a second system, the CVA50MX-1 also provides a Line Out feature for auxiliary devices (daisy chain).

Brian McCormick, Chief Marketing Officer for Stewart Audio, commented on the company’s new AV30MX-2 and CVA50MX-1 combination mixers/amplifiers. “The new AV30MX-2 and CVA50MX-1 offer integrators a wealth of possibilities for a wide range of installations,? said McCormick. “Both units are incredibly light and small—enabling them to fit into places other power amps and mixers can’t. They also offer music and fire alarm muting, and are ideal for presentation and training facilities—particularly the CVA50MX-1, which is very well suited to assisted listening environments. The AV30MX-2 features recessed gain controls to ensure against accidental changes in output level and the CVA50MX-1 incorporates remote volume control. Both models include external inline power supplies. With world-class audio performance, a rich feature set, and a comprehensive 3 year warranty, I’m confident contractors will find these two models a great choice for numerous types of projects.?

The Stewart Audio AV30MX-2 and CVA50MX-1 combination mixers/amplifiers are expected to become available Q2 2010. MSRP for these models is as follows:

1. AV30MX-2: $279
2. CVA50MX-1: $499
