Forward Thinking Since 1948; Launches ‘Oldest Product’ Contest; New Products Include RHOMBII Flat Panel Lectern, Juice Power System and Antimicrobial PAL Cart

CHICAGO — June 7, 2010 — This week at EduComm Conference 2010 (Booth #11) and InfoComm 2010 (Booth #N2339) in Las Vegas, Bretford Manufacturing, Inc. will showcase its ability to supply an education or training facility with the full assortment of custom and standard technology furniture necessary to complete a room. As part of its 60-plus year heritage, Bretford will launch an “Oldest Product? video competition in which the grand prize winner will receive a full room of furniture for 30 students or professionals. The company will also show a new RHOMBII flat panel lectern, a new Juice Power System and a PAL technology cart with an antimicrobial finish.

“Bretford produces all the technology furniture — from shelving, carrels, workstations and tables to carts, mounts, lecterns and booktrucks — needed to equip an entire learning or training facility,? explained Cindy Weinschreider, senior marketing manager for Bretford Manufacturing, Inc. “Our theme for these shows is ‘Forward Thinking Since 1948’ because, in addition to our ongoing stream of new furniture designs, we are focusing on the dependability of our products, some of which have been around for decades. The ‘Oldest Product’ video competition gives entrants the ability to show how that 1960s Bretford AV cart is still being used in a high school today, for example.? Weinschreider added that the video competition is designed to be fun and creative, while showing the critical role that technology furniture plays in learning and working environments.

“Oldest Product? Video Competition
For Bretford’s video contest, entrants will create and submit videos showing their oldest Bretford furniture product still in use today. The contest is open to all educators, business professionals and facilities managers who either use or select furniture products in a school or training facility.

The contest period runs from June 7 to July 31, 2010 with the grand prize winner selected by a panel of Bretford executives on August 16, 2010. The winning entrant will receive a full room of Bretford furniture to accommodate 30 students or professionals — in time for the 2010/2011 school year.

New Bretford Products
Bretford will debut a new RHOMBII lectern designed to support a 40-inch flat panel. This allows for the display of logos and graphics to engage, add interest and help students, professionals and other audiences retain the information being delivered. Ideal for lecture halls, auditoriums, conference rooms or anywhere that someone might speak to a group, the lectern can be used in combination with Bretford’s line of RHOMBII reconfigurable training tables or Bretford’s array of training, meeting and conference solutions. Also available with a solid wood panel on the front, the new RHOMBII lectern will be available in the second half of 2010.

The Juice Power System is a simple tool created to help facilities increase connectivity, reduce installation costs and protect valuable technology equipment. It allows up to four tables and eight computer stations to be powered from a single outlet without the expense of hardwiring or the clutter of individual power strips. It features a “tool-less? installation that doesn’t require an electrician or a building modification, so it can be incorporated into a facility for less than half the cost of most hardwired components. The system will be available for order in the second half of July 2010 at a list price that averages $150 per table.

The currently available Presenter’s Assistant for Learning (PAL) cart provides a single location in which to house all equipment for a complete multimedia station. The PAL cart supports a data projector, document camera, DVD player, MP3 player, sound system, gaming console, rack-mounted electronics, two equipment shelves and a pullout shelf for a laptop computer — resulting in endless technology combinations packed into a small 25″ × 23″ footprint. Its antimicrobial finish is intended to inhibit the growth of bacteria odor, mold, mildew and fungus on the product’s surface.
