A virtual press conference from Sound & Video Contractor

Brea, CA – June 2010… Altinex, the leading manufacturer of Modular AV Solutions™, is pleased to announce the new MX430-101 8 X 8 HDMI Matrix Switcher. Ideal for training facilities, presentation spaces, and other multimedia environments incorporating multiple video sources and displays, the new MX430-101 can simultaneously distribute any input to any one output, all eight outputs, or any combination of outputs while maintaining full HDMI image resolution and signal integrity. Offering a rich feature set and advanced functionality designed to streamline the operation of today’s sophisticated AV systems, the new MX430-101 provides the versatility and effective control that integrators find indispensible.

Supporting computer sources up to UXGA and HDTV video sources up to 1080p, the new Altinex MX430-101 is fully HDMI V1.3 compliant for Deep Color (up to trillions of colors) with lossless digital audio such as Dolby’s TrueHD Master Audio—enabling sound and picture to have maximum impact. Equally significant, this matrix switcher supports HDCP V1.1 for content protection with individual key management on each output, thus ensuring the security of one’s intellectual/business assets.

Efficient control over the video equipment is essential in order to provide fast, intuitive operation of the system and, for this, the new MX430-101 excels. Using standard RS-232 or Infra-Red (optical or digital by means of a handheld remote or a 3.5 mm jack for digital IR input), the MX430-101 can be governed via popular control systems or through the unit’s front panel—providing the flexibility to optimize the system to the environment. Further, the MX430-101 utilizes the standard Altinex serial protocol similar to the company’s other MultiTasker products, facilitating seamless integration with other Altinex AV system equipment. Front panel control includes six programmable “snap-shot? configurations that provide rapid access to one’s most frequently used equipment combinations.

The new Altinex MX430-101 includes comprehensive support for EDID, the protocol that provides the video source and display monitor the basic configuration information to work together correctly. The MX430-101 provides two methods—internal and external—of identifying monitor resolutions. In TV Mode, the MX430-101 connects the input with the first HDMI recognized output starting at Output 1 through Output 4. In Standard Mode, the MX430-101 pulls EDID resolutions from an internal table.

In terms of system cabling, the MX430-101 reclocks each outbound signal. This is important when signals are distributed significant distances from the matrix switcher. Lengths of up to 33 feet for both input and output will reproduce with all the brilliant color and sonic performance expected from today’s High Definition equipment.

Phil Hale, Altinex Vice President of Sales and Marketing, commented on the company’s new MX430-101 8 X 8 Matrix Switcher. “The MX430-101 is an incredibly versatile and comprehensive solution for managing the multiple video sources and displays typically found in today’s sophisticated AV systems,? says Hale. “Featuring a variety of control options designed to optimize the system for any type of environment and performance specs that compliment the equipment being connected to it, the MX430-101 is ideal for education, corporate business presentation spaces, and other applications where sound and picture from a variety of sources must be managed quickly and easily. I’m quite certain integrators will find this new unit a terrific choice for a wide range of installation projects.?

The new Altinex MX430-101 8 X 8 Matrix Switcher package includes the matrix unit, an IR remote, an IR extended receiver, a supporting bottom rail for mounting stability, a power supply, and a 6-foot power cable. The MX430-101 carries a MSRP of $4,550 and is now available.
