WASILLA, ALASKA: Every year, twenty of the churches in Wasilla, Alaska join together in the Wasilla Multi-Use Sports Complex for “One Lord Sunday.” The event highlights the vast common ground that the denominations share through a mixed-style service that draws on the strengths of the participating churches. One Lord Sunday brings together some 4,000 congregants, as well as dignitaries such as the Governor of Alaska. This year, Phil Ballard of local A/V firm Sound Decisions built the temporary sound system that would convey a spirit of unity using Danley loudspeakers and subwoofers, as well as Danley’s newly-introduced amplifiers and DSPs. DALLAS, TEXAS – JUNE 2010: InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) recently converted their downtown Dallas, Texas Holiday Inn to a Crowne Plaza, and with the shift in brands came a dramatic increase in required meeting/celebration space. IHG undertook a massive renovation of the 23-story building and hired Rutherford Design of Northridge, California to design a sound system for the new lobby, plaza, mezzanine, and restaurant/bar. Company owner Richard Rutherford relied on an efficient combination of Symetrix and SymNet processors to deliver all of the complex functionality required of the system. He relied on programmable SymNet ARC wall panels to present that complex system to the hotel’s staff in a simple, intuitive manner. more

New S-Video/Stereo Audio Solution Extends a Signal Up to 700 Feet

Chicago, IL (August 2, 2010)–Tripp Lite has introduced a new S-Video/Stereo Audio over Cat5 Extender Kit (Model B137-101) that enables an S-Video/Stereo Audio signal to be extended up to 700 ft. When used with 24Awg Solid Wire UTP cable, the B137-101 can transmit audio and video signals to a remote TV or projector up to 500 feet from the source. Maximum range can be extended to 700 feet by using Zero-Skew UTP cable. Over shorter distances, standard Cat5 cables may be used. more

Further extending its world-class live production capabilities, All Mobile Video (AMV) recently purchased a Studer Vista 8 console for its new Epic 3D mobile production truck. The Vista 8 is fully 7.1 surround sound capable, with 72 faders and up to 250 inputs. The Epic truck was first used on July 21 for a 3D and 2D taping of Sheryl Crow in concert at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City. more
