INTELIX INTRODUCES COMPACT USB OVER TWISTED PAIR SOLUTION

Middleton, WI- Intelix LLC, U.S. manufacturer of audio/video equipment and software, recently announced the release of the AVO-USB extender kit, a professional-grade solution for extending USB 1.1 and 2.0 signals over structured pair cabling, such as Cat 5 or Cat 6.

“We are extremely excited to introduce the AVO-USB extender set, states Cameron Smith, Intelix Sales and Marketing Manager. “Intelix has a long history providing USB extension solutions; however, the AVO-USB is the first product which combines an extremely compact form-factor with professional-grade performance. Most solutions trade size for quality—the smaller you get the worse the signal—this isn’t the case with Intelix technology.

Prior to the AVO-USB, remote USB devices such as cameras, printers, scanners, keyboards, and mice were limited to only 16 feet via direct USB cables or required expensive secondary network equipment. Using the AVO-USB, remote devices may be connected up to 330 feet via inexpensive Cat 5 cabling at standard speed USB (1.5 Mbps) and up to 100 feet at full speed USB (12 Mbps).

The AVO-USB includes one transmitter for the client device and one receiver for the host device. Five volt power is supplied via the USB connection and no secondary power supply is required.

To use, simply connect the AVO-USB host balun to your source device, connect standard unshielded twisted pair cabling, and connect the AVO-USB client balun to the destination device.

Complete details are available online at www.intelix.com.

Intelix offers the broadest line of audio/video over twisted pair extenders in the professional AV marketplace, including solutions for multiple formats of audio and video, VGA, DVI, HDMI, USB, and PS2. In addition to baluns, Intelix manufactures an extensive line of distribution amplifiers, scalers, converters, matrix switchers, room-combiners, and multi-zone paging systems. Complete product information is available from the Intelix web site, www.intelix.com, or by calling 866-4-MATMIX.
