LUNCHBOX TRADEMARK AWARDED TO API
JESSUP, MARYLAND – AUGUST 2010: API is pleased to announce that the company’s iconic lunchbox(r) has been awarded trademark status by the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Granted on July 13, 2010, the registration helps recognize API as the creator of the format and allows API to more effectively market the lunchbox frame, which can hold up to six of the popular 500 Series models.
“This helps verify to our friends in the audio community that API is and always has been the creator of the lunchbox and the 500 Series format,” said Larry Droppa, API president. “If you say ‘lunchbox,’ it means the API lunchbox – with the build quality, reliability and longevity that are the hallmarks of every piece of API gear.”
In recent years, the market has overwhelmingly embraced API’s 500 Series format as the modular specification of choice, and the number of options available in this series has exploded. API in turn created the VPR Alliance to assist manufacturers in designing products that are physically and electronically compatible with API racks.
The official trademark registration symbol provides API both product identity and protection when the lunchbox is mentioned in print or online.
ABOUT API (AUTOMATED PROCESSES, INC.) Automated Processes, Inc. remains the leader in analog recording gear, with the Vision, Legacy Series and 1608 Recording Consoles, as well as its classic line of modular signal processing equipment.
