Salamander Introduces New Pro Audio Rack Mounts for its Synergy & Chameleon AV Cabinets

Modular, Stackable, Affordable, Rack Mounting Systems Provide New Solutions for Customers and Installers

CEDIA EXPO, ATLANTA, Sept. 9, 2010 — Salamander Designs, Ltd., a leading designer and manufacturer of modern furniture, seating and mounting products for Home Theater and audio/video entertainment systems, introduces new lines of professional audio rack mounts that are compatible with both its award-winning Synergy System™ and also its flagship Chameleon Collection of high-quality A/V cabinets. The new rack mounts will be on display at CEDIA EXPO 20100, beginning Sept. 23.

The new designs allow customers to add rack mount capability to the modular Synergy System and increase an already huge number of product configurations to further meet their audio/video requirements. And for the first time, the new Chameleon Collection mounts allow consumers to incorporate any of 9 decorator styles into a rack system, and make units that are uniquely their own. All the rack mounts meet EIA standards.

All the new mounts help consumers customize more fully than ever their A/V cabinet selections, and enjoy the satisfaction of defining a highly personal solution. This also demonstrates how Salamander Designs harnesses innovation to benefit customers and dealers alike, while helping both dealers and custom installers conduct more business with their established vendors.

Synergy System Rack Mount Cabinets
Synergy is a modular furniture system that lets consumers define an almost limitless number of product arrangements by combining a wide variety of elements. The new Synergy rack mounts are modular, stackable, cost effective, ready to assemble, and compatible with all Synergy configurations, and allow considerable mixing and matching. The mounts are available in multiple widths and heights, and cabinets come with a full set of rails. Twenty-inch high cabinets support 10-unit racks, 30-inch cabinets support 15 rack units, and 40-inch cabinets support 21-unit racks.

The Synergy rack mounts are available for single, twin, and triple-width cabinets in open and full-door configurations in all the above heights in any combination, supporting up to 42 units. The mounts include lacing bars to help manage wires.

Chameleon Collection Rack Mount Cabinets
The Chameleon Collection cabinets offer 9 different styles each in 4 different configurations. These are constructed of premium, components with exceptional attention to detail, reliability and durability. The cabinet styles are Berlin, Hampton, Sonoma, Geneva, Barcelona, Corsica, Elba, Oslo, and Venice. Other features include extruded aluminum frameworks, soft-closing door dampers, infinitely adjustable shelves, ventilation louvers, and removable rear panels.

Consumers can feel confident all the rack mount-equipped cabinets will complement their décor and are suitable for display. And whether they select Ready-to-Assemble or fully assembled units, consumers can be comfortable that their racks will be rock solid for supporting electronic gear.

Several accessories enhance the rack mounts’ functionality, including extended rear panels that add four inches to cabinet depths, an active cooling kit with thermostatically controlled fans, a Panamax power conditioner for surge protection, and heavy duty casters.

Both Synergy System and Chameleon Collection cabinets are made in the USA and assembled by Salamander artisans for quick shipment and delivery. No more long waits for customized units to arrive.

Salamander Designs’ new rack mounts will be available at the end of September. They can be seen at the company’s CEDIA exhibition, Booth 3546, Georgia World Congress Center, during the show.
