Panamax/Furman to Offer Free Home Theater Power and Energy Management Training Sessions at CEDIA EXPO 2010

PETALUMA, Calif. — Sept. 14, 2010 — Panamax/Furman today announced that the company will be offering three free 90-minute training sessions at CEDIA EXPO 2010. Providing a continuing education unit (CEU) value of .375, the presentations will explore the use and integration of multiple power and energy management products, including Panamax/Furman’s BlueBOLT(R) platform. Presented by Furman senior product designer Garth Powell, “AC Power — the Foundation of Every Home Theater System” will take place on Friday, Sept. 24, at 10 a.m. “Home Theater Power Management Solutions,” presented by Panamax national trainer Marshall Currier, will be held on Friday, Sept. 24, and Saturday, Sept. 25, at 10 a.m. All sessions will take place in room A316.

By attending “AC Power — the Foundation of Every Home Theater System,” installers will learn how to protect components from a wide variety of common AC power issues and achieve maximum sound and video quality by eliminating AC line noise. In addition, Powell will discuss how installers can improve customer service and provide their clients with a robust energy management solution by utilizing Panamax/Furman’s BlueBOLT platform in every A/V system. At the end of the session, each attendee will have the opportunity to win one of two Furman AC-215A compact power conditioners with auto-resetting voltage protection.

Currier will teach attendees of “Home Theater Power Management Solutions” how to use, integrate, and configure power and energy management solutions, including new BlueBOLT-enabled battery backup products, the PM family of components, Panamax’s new M4315-PRO and M4320-PRO BlueBOLT solutions, in addition to on-wall and in-wall products. At the end of the session, a Panamax M4300-PM power conditioner with Automatic Voltage Monitoring and Level 2 Power Cleaning will be given away.

To improve customer service, BlueBOLT allows individual outlets or outlet banks to be power-cycled from any Web browser or Web-enabled mobile device — drastically reducing service calls. With its auto-reboot feature for networking equipment, outlets can be designed to automatically power-cycle when an Internet connection is lost, eliminating the all-too-common need to hard-reboot modems and routers.

As a comprehensive energy management solution, BlueBOLT allows integrators to input energy rates specific to devices’ installation locations. Using this information, the BlueBOLT platform calculates the energy used by connected devices and reports it, historically and in real time, in kilowatt-hours as well as dollars. Energy usage information can be viewed on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. Users can also set energy budgets for their equipment and receive alerts when their usage is near or exceeding their allotted budget.
