LightViper Goes Long For Chivas Stadium, Guadalajara, Mexico
Hi-Tech Audio provides LightViper Fiber-Optic System for Audio & Ethernet Transport at Chivas Stadium
Hi-Tech Audio, Mexico City has installed a LightViper fiber-optic system in Chivas Stadium, Guadalajara, Mexico. This HOK Sport designed stadium is a state of the art facility built in the JVC complex. It is a multi-use venue that is used mostly for football matches including home matches for Club Deportivo Guadalajara, commonly known as the “Chivas.” The stadium has a seating capacity of 49,850.The LightViperâ„¢ system installed is being used as a drive snake from the main control room console to groups of d&b audiotechnik D12 amplifiers in the roof of the stadium. Two LightViperâ„¢ VIM-1808’s are located in the control room.
The digital outputs of the console are fed digital in to the VIM-1808’s, which then transports the audio via 300 meters of fiber to opposite ends of the stadium where the audio is received on each end by VIM-0808’s. The AES digital outputs of the VIM-0808’s are then input to the AES inputs of the d&b audiotechnik D12 amplifiers. The entire signal path, input to output, is digital. In addition, there is a LightViper™ EF2 in the control room which feeds the d&b CanBus control ( Ethernet converted to fiber) to each end of the stadium via 300 meters of fiber, where EF2’s at each end translate the data on the fiber back to Ethernet and connect to the d&b D12 amplifiers, providing the control protocol for the amplifiers.
Jose’ Antonio Martinez Benita of Hi-Tech Audio had this to say “The installation of the LightViper™ system was simple, and the operation was flawless right from the start. To accomplish this with analog technology would have been insanity, and would have cost much more. The entire system sounds great! With LightViper™ we got the results we expected.
