Perfect Path(TM) and DPL Laboratories, Inc. Team Up to Present ‘Rev. 1.4 Revealed’ HDMI Seminar at CEDIA EXPO 2010

EAST SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Sept. 21, 2010 — Perfect Path(TM) today announced that the company has teamed up with DPL Laboratories, Inc. (DPL Labs), the industry’s leading HDMI product testing and performance rating program, to offer “Rev. 1.4 Revealed,” an informative seminar on HDMI technology, at CEDIA EXPO 2010. Taking place on Friday, Sept. 24, at 3 p.m. at Perfect Path’s booth 4714, the seminar will be presented by Eric Bodley, vice president and general manager of consumer electronics at PPC(R), and DPL Labs President Jeff Boccaccio. Also at CEDIA EXPO, Perfect Path will introduce its HD-700 and HD-1000 series of HDMI cables, which are in the certification process through the DPL Seal of Approval Program.

In “Rev. 1.4 Revealed,” Bodley and Boccaccio will explore the latest revision of the HDMI specification including critical details on proper installation techniques and configuration considerations to maximize the performance of the interface. The information presented will help installers and integrators better understand the issues surrounding this latest HDMI specification revision, which introduces new features like 3D technology, 4K x 2K resolution, and more.

“HDMI 1.4 is a very exciting new standard that really opens up the possibilities in any installation. As with any new technology, however, it poses a number of challenges until installers become more familiar with it,” said Bodley. “The goal of this seminar is to provide installers with a solid understanding of the new features provided by the specification, in addition to proper configuration to provide their clients with peak-performing systems. All of us here at Perfect Path are excited about the superior connectivity that our locking HDMI connectors bring to the reliability of every installation, and the DPL Seal of Approval Program will add proof of our superior electrical connectivity.”

Perfect Path’s HD-700 high-speed HDMI cables and HD-1000 high-speed HDMI cables with Ethernet Channel (both with locking HDMI connectors) are presently in the testing process to be certified through DPL’s Seal of Approval Program, which was created to help buyers find the best and most reliable HDMI cables available. DPL Labs thoroughly tests HDMI cables with a rigorous multi-element testing regime that clearly establishes the cable’s performance and capability. A cable bearing the DPL Seal of Approval is guaranteed to exceed HDMI’s standards and ensures high quality and years of reliable performance.

For high performance at long cable lengths, the HD-700 and HD-1000 16-, 25-, 35-, and 50-foot HDMI cables feature PerfectLink(TM) active chipset technology built into the cable. PerfectLink(TM) allows long-length, high-speed HDMI cable performance without a bulky cable, making installations with Perfect Path cables easy and reliable.
