Sennheiser Canada is Honored by the Canadian Institute for Theatre Technology


Halifax, Canada, September 2010: The Canadian Institute for Theatre Technology (L’Institut canadien des technologies scénographiques, CITT) is a national arts services organization that provides support for technicians, craftspeople, managers, designers, educators, students, architects, and manufacturers working within the Canadian live performance community. Every year, CITT honors members of that community who excel in their field. This year, CITT recognized Sennheiser Canada with the Supplier Achievement Award for Sennheiser’s superior wired and wireless audio products and, perhaps more importantly, for its commitment to educating the live theater community in best audio practices. Sennheiser received the award at Rendez-vous 2010 on August 14th at Pier 21, Kenneth C. Rowe Heritage Hall.

“The CITT Supplier Achievement Award recognizes an individual or corporate entity who has shown sustained commitment to providing excellent service or products to the Canadian cultural industries community,” said Victor Svenningson, production & technical manager at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga, Ontario. “Sennheiser is an audio company highly respected throughout the industry, and the quality of its products and services is renowned worldwide. In Canada, Sennheiser has always been a key player in supporting CITT, providing top-notch service to its members.”

Sennheiser is a regular presence at CITT’s annual trade show. In addition to a booth for new product demonstrations, Sennheiser both sponsors and presents a range of workshops on wireless audio technology. Sennheiser continually makes good on its own commitments and steps in when needed. “They really helped us out a few years ago,” recalled Svenningson, “when the guest speaker for an audio workshop pulled out at the last minute. Not only did Sennheiser provide a speaker, they sent one of the world’s leading experts from Europe to handle the event!”

“CITT provides the axis around which the technical theater community revolves,” said Frédérick Girard, business director for pro audio products, Sennheiser Canada, who received the award on behalf of Sennheiser in Halifax. “It is therefore a great honor to be formally recognized by CITT for our commitment to live theater in Canada. We look forward to a bright future, as every new generation of Sennheiser technology brings professional-grade audio to aspiring theaters and troupes.”
