Lexicon’s Multi-Room Amplifier Employs New Patented DriveCore™ Technology To Achieve Unprecedented Power Output And Energy-Efficient Performance

With access to research and development across HARMAN’s automotive, consumer and professional divisions, a talented engineering team and an unwavering commitment to excellence, Lexicon has again raised the bar for performance and design in home audio amplification.

Redefining the performance standard for home audio amplification and raising the expectation level for home audio products across the board, Lexicon is presenting the new DD-8 multi-room amplifier at CEDIA Expo 2010. The new DriveCore™ amplifier employs a highly advanced silicon-based technology that was developed in conjunction with Texas Instruments to deliver an unprecedented amount of power while using less energy and less rack space than ever before.

Offering eight 125-watt channels in a one-unit chassis without a fan, the DD-8 complies with the new half-watt standby power consumption standards and consumes less power while in use than most products do in stand-by mode. It also has feedback and protection circuits integrated into the silicon for fast and accurate response while providing audiophile grade sonic performance; and it has the ability to automatically switch to low-power stand-by mode when not in use for even lower energy consumption.

“Our new Lexicon DD-8 sets the standard for residential amplifiers, both in terms of energy efficiency and audio performance,? said Jim Garrett, Market Manager, HARMAN High Performance A/V. “We achieve such a significant advantage because we’re able to leverage advances across every market served by HARMAN– including professional, consumer and automotive – to deliver the perfect product for any application, every time.?

The new DD-8 comes standard with Phoenix speaker connections and flexible configuration options including four local inputs, a bus input/output and selectable Mono to Stereo output. It also features independent output level adjustment for each channel, as well as selectable triggers.

“The patented DriveCore technology that powers Lexicon’s new multi-room amplifier is what really sets it apart from competitors,? continued Garrett. “With this advanced silicon-based technology, the DD-8 takes up less rack space, emits less heat and sounds significantly better than other amps on the market.“
