NYPA ANNOUNCES 2010-2011 BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND OFFICERS
NEW YORK: The New York Production Alliance
introduced its 2010-2011 Board of Directors, Officers and Committee Chairs at a member meeting October 19, hosted by Panavision New York.
“For some time, our primary focus has been advocating for the renewal of the film production tax credits. To continue that work, NYPA has now established a co-chair leadership structure representing industry and labor, to enhance the effectiveness of NYPA as the only non partisan coalition collaborating on solutions for continued growth of New York jobs in production, said John Johnston, NYPA Executive Director. “While employment of New Yorkers continues to be NYPA’s top priority, the organization can now direct more resources to its educational initiatives, including the encouragement of sustainable green practices in production. Our committees are reorganized to support this implementation. Johnston added.
Morty Dubin, Founder and Chair Emeritus offered his thanks to the retiring members of the board, Russ Hollander DGA, Lydia Dean Pilcher PGA East, Jack Turney AICP, Mitchell Kriegman Wainscott Studios, “ NYPA succeeds because of the volunteerism of industry leaders. We thank those stepping aside and those stepping up to continue the mission. NYPA is the entire industry working together. It is fortunate to have such a talented member base with a commitment to the growth of NY production, said Dubin.

The New York Production Alliance www.nypa.org was formed in the fall of 1998 by a group of film and television industry leaders to promote, expedite and expand production and post-production in New York City and State. NYPA members include a cross section of companies representing every aspect of the business – production companies, trade associations, talent and craft unions and guilds, studios, traditional and non-traditional media, support and service companies, networks and independent contractors. NYPA is the information source for government and industry leaders who want information on why New York is a top production location. It also is the place to learn about the issues of importance to this vital New York industry.
