UK, November 2, 2010. The newly opened HQ Land Forces base in Andover, Wiltshire, has become the latest Ministry of Defence site to install a MediaStar solution from Cabletime. This marks a period of active investment in IPTV and TV distribution at MOD sites over the past 14 months.

MediaStar Evolution, the powerful IP-based solution for digital media, TV and AV content distribution over networks, has been installed by leading video conferencing and audio visual systems integrator, Audio Visual Machines (AVM), at the Marlborough Lines site in Andover. An additional four large MOD bases are now using Evolution, a further one has installed both Evolution and Cabletime’s Cat-5/UTP solution MediaStar Pro, and several smaller sites are using MediaStar Compact.

Audio post production facility Studio 5/5 has been employing its SADiE digital audio location recorders and workstations to complete the sound design for a number of new theme park rides and attractions.

Headed by Jean-Jacques Quinet, the Brussels-based audio post production facility has been a SADiE user since 1996 and is currently running six SADiE systems including a SADiE H64, a PCM8, a PCM2 and three SADiE LRX2 Location Recording Workstations – one of which was recently acquired for the facility’s new studio in Paris.
