Panamax/Furman Joins RTI’s Integration Partner Program

New Two-Way Drivers Provide Seamless Integration of BlueBOLT(R)-Compatible M4315/4320-PRO Power Conditioners and MB1500 UPS Into RTI Control Systems

PETALUMA, Calif. — Dec. 13, 2010 — Panamax/Furman today announced that it has teamed up with Remote Technologies Incorporated (RTI) to create two-way drivers for the XP-8 remote control processor, providing seamless integration of the BlueBOLT(R)-compatible M4315/4320-PRO power conditioners and MB1500 UPS into RTI control systems for two-way power management control and real-time power monitoring.

Developed through RTI’s Integration Partner Program, the new two-way drivers allow integrators to implement Panamax/Furman’s M4315/4320-PRO power conditioners or MB1500 UPS easily into any RTI control system utilizing the XP-8 processor. Supporting both IP and RS-232 control, the drivers provide a powerful experience for users by allowing them to shut off outlets or banks that are not in use to eliminate wasteful stand-by power and hard-reboot problem devices in the system through the intuitive RTI interface. Visual feedback of line voltage, current draw, and power breaker status, displayed on an RTI handheld or in-wall controller, provides a valuable diagnostic tool to ensure that current draw is not excessive or abnormally high or low.

In addition to RTI control, the M4315/4320-PRO and MB1500 UPS offer complete and simultaneous cloud-based remote control and energy management functionality via Panamax/Furman’s exclusive BlueBOLT platform. With BlueBOLT, integrators can remotely reboot problem components online without the time and expense of a service call, allowing them to immediately address a myriad of common system issues ranging from locked up components to bad communication handshakes. As a hosted service, the platform is continuously updated with new features, and may be accessed anywhere from any Web-enabled device, including smartphones and tablet computers.

For complete A/V system energy management, full energy monitoring is reported by BlueBOLT historically and in real-time, including energy consumption of connected equipment in wattage, kWh, and dollars. The integrator or end user can set up energy-saving commands such as scheduled conservation events in non-use hours, budget related e-mail alerts when nearing or exceeding a preset energy usage threshold, and seasonal utility rates to see consumption in dollars.

“The ability to integrate Panamax/Furman’s BlueBOLT-compatible units seamlessly into an RTI control system offers a number of benefits for users and installers alike,” said Pete Baker, vice president of sales and marketing for RTI. “The M4315/4320-PRO and MB1500 provide users with the protection and enhanced performance they need for the ultimate home theater experience, while offering the robust energy management features of the BlueBOLT platform to allow them to take full control over their power usage. We are happy to complement the convenience of BlueBOLT by bringing users power and energy feedback and control right to their RTI remote.”

Panamax/Furman’s M4315-PRO (15A) and M4320-PRO (20A) each feature eight rear panel AC outlets with catastrophic surge/spike protection, over/under voltage protection, and Linear Filtering Technology (LiFT) for optimal audio and video quality. Two dedicated front-panel reboot buttons allow power cycling for individual outlets instead of powering down an entire bank of outlets. In addition to surge protection, Automatic Voltage Regulation, and LiFT, the MB1500 UPS provides a 12A capacity with 1500VA battery back-up to prevent critical equipment from losing its setup configuration and stored data, while avoiding hard disk crashes in the event of a sustained power event, such as a power outage.

“RTI has earned a reputation for providing intuitive, easy-to-use control solutions that integrate seamlessly with third-party products, such as our M4315/4320-PRO and MB1500. We are thrilled to join their Integration Partner Program and extend the power and energy management benefits of our BlueBOLT-compatible products to installers and users of RTI systems,” said Dave Keller, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Panamax/Furman.

The new Panamax/Furman drivers are available for download on RTI’s dealer website.
