Atlona Showcases Versatility of Home Theater Products at 2011 International CES

Range of Home Theater Solutions Add Convenience, Flexibility to Media Consumption Across Computers and HDTVs

LAS VEGAS, 2011 International CES — Jan. 4, 2011 — Atlona Technologies(R) today announced that at the 2011 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the company will highlight a number of products that help consumers to create the ultimate home theater experience. Specifically designed to operate comfortably in any user’s hands, these simple, easy-to-use Atlona solutions enable operators to enjoy media with maximum convenience and flexibility.

“Our CES booth will highlight a variety of simple yet valuable solutions for enhancing the home theater experience and bringing computer applications, gaming, and movie libraries to HDTVs,” said Joshua Carlson, director of public relations, Atlona Technologies. “By solving all manner of connectivity issues cost-effectively, Atlona products radically extend the capabilities of computers and displays within today’s sophisticated and increasingly converged home theater and computing environments.”

Throughout CES, Atlona will showcase its AT-HDPiX2 USB-to-HDMI adapter, which adds an HDMI port to any computer (Mac(R) or PC). Supporting resolutions up to 1080p, the AT-HDPiX2 is a perfect device for viewing content from a computer on any HDTV. The adapter can serve as a second video card, allowing a computer user to clone another HDTV monitor and make it an identical replication of the laptop or desktop screen. Simple plug-and-play setup makes the adapter convenient for all users, no matter their level of technical knowledge.

The Atlona AT-HDVieW also brings flexibility to home theater environments that incorporate both computers and HDTV displays. CES attendees can see firsthand how this plug-and-play device takes video and audio signals from a PC or laptop, automatically senses the native resolution of the display, and upscales video to a digital HDMI output (up to 1080p) suitable for that particular HDTV display or monitor. The converter also embeds the audio signal from the computer into the HDMI signal output, thereby eliminating the clutter of a second cable.

Adding convenience to home computing and gaming, the Atlona AT-PCLINK is a wireless system that provides access to one PC through a secondary keyboard, mouse, display, and set of PC speakers. Through wireless transmission, the AT- PCLINK can connect to any desktop or laptop computer using simple USB dongles, in turn becoming a sleek, simple access point for users up to 30 feet from the base station. As many as four receivers can be connected to one transmitter.

Making its CES debut, Atlona’s new AT-AiR3 wireless USB-to-HDMI/VGA adaptor provides a full 1080p signal that enables users to connect a computer or laptop wirelessly to an HDTV or projector via a Video Graphics Array (VGA) connector or an HDMI cable. Capable of transmitting a signal up to 30 feet, the AT-AiR3 is perfect for viewing streaming media from Hulu(TM), YouTube, and other popular sites, as well as computer-based learning programs.

Ensuring the highest quality HD video and digital audio transfer among home entertainment systems, Atlona’s 180-degree swivel-head high-speed HDMI cables with Ethernet provide the flexibility required for low-profile installations. These premium 6-foot cables support transfer rates beyond 10.2 Gbps at resolutions four times higher than standard 1080p (up to 4096 x 2160) so that viewers can experience stunning colors, Dolby(R) TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, and 100-Mbps Ethernet.

Visitors to Atlona’s booth 21813 (south hall lower level) at the 2011 International CES can experience all of these products and more.
