Chyron’s Paul Glasgow to Discuss Cloud-Based Services at CABSAT Broadcast Conference
Vice President of EMEA Sales at Chyron Will Examine Challenges and Successful Implementations of Today’s Cloud-Based Offerings
LONDON — Feb. 2, 2011 — Chyron today announced that Paul Glasgow, vice president of EMEA sales at Chyron, will present “Cloud Services for Broadcast — Fantasy or Reality?” at the 2011 CABSAT Broadcast Conference. During his session, scheduled for Feb. 8 at 11:30 a.m., Glasgow will examine current cloud-based services available to broadcast operations and look at how facilities have met operational and technical challenges associated with these offerings to date. Glasgow will also discuss how content providers can measure the success of cloud-based services, particularly broadcasters in the Middle Eastern market who are currently using or considering this type of platform as part of an overall production workflow.
“As the Internet becomes ubiquitous, so does the availability of cloud-based services for both consumer and professional applications,” said Glasgow. “Nevertheless, deploying this type of service within a broadcast operation involves a number of challenges, including the management of complex workflows and the handling of large files, while ensuring the necessary level of security. My CABSAT presentation will explore how broadcasters can address these challenges and leverage cloud-based services to benefit their operations and ultimately transform their business.”
Glasgow is deeply engaged in developing Chyron’s broadcast graphics and cloud services business. An industry veteran of 25 years, he has been involved in deploying leading-edge media technologies and processes. After introducing da Vinci color correction to film and post-production markets in Europe, Glasgow ran Sony’s transmission and DAM group in EMEA, helped introduce EMC2 IT-based media solutions group in enterprise markets, and served as a general manager for Avid in EMEA.
The CABSAT Broadcast Conference, scheduled on Feb. 8 and 9, will comprise four half-day sessions, each focusing on a particular aspect of the broadcast industry. These sessions include specialized content on all aspects of content creation, management, and delivery, as well as a bonus track focusing on some of the most popular papers presented during IBC2010.
