A virtual press conference from Sound & Video Contractor

Prism Sound and SADiE At PLASA Focus

Prism Sound and SADiE’s high end audio recording and editing equipment will be on show at the PLASA Focus exhibition in Leeds, which takes place from the 19th – 20th April, 2011.

Among the products on show will be the company’s range of SADiE 6 LiVE branded systems, which are essentially hardware multi-track recorders consisting of a SADiE hardware unit and dedicated multitrack recorder software. The full SADiE software and modules can be added, turning these into full editing systems.

The combination of dedicated hardware and software retains the traditional SADiE strengths of low latency, high reliability, bit transparent digital recording in a turnkey system. Additional important features include the ability to make mirrored recordings on two hard-disks providing a simultaneous safety copy, high track counts, and the ability to connect to consoles via MADI, MADI-X, AES-3 or analogue connections.

There are three platforms for the SADiE 6 LiVE system, each of which can be configured with a range of I/O cards. On Show at PLASA Focus will be the LRX2 LiVE Multichannel location workstation, which includes 64 channel DSP, a hardware front panel with moving fders and edit controls, three ‘slither’ audio card expansion slots and headphone and monitor outputs. In LiVE guise, it is supplied with Multi-track Recorder software (dedicated location recording software) but is also compatible with all of the various SADiE 6 software packages and can be expanded to a maximum of 48 discrete inputs or 56/64 channels of MADI.

Prism Sound will also be showing the SADiE LiVE H64, a 64-channel multitrack recorder which is supplied with MTR multitrack software. This incorporates many security features for live recording, including file preservation, disk mirroring and minimal disk requirements.

The final product from the SADiE range to make an appearance at PLASA Focus is SADiE 6, the new software-only version of the world-famous SADiE editing system. SADiE 6 operates on any computer running Microsoft Windows with ASIO compatible audio hardware, as well as existing SADiE 5 hardware platforms.

Prism Sound will complete its line-up with the award-wining Orpheus FireWire multi-track audio interface for personal recording and sound production. Suited to a wide range of applications, Orpheus provides Prism Sound’s renowned performance, sound quality and state-of-the-art clock technology in a dedicated FireWire unit, and is targeted at professional musicians, songwriters, engineers and producers as well as recording studios, post production facilities and scoring stages.

Prism Sound and SADiE can be found at stand RA-A5. If you would like further information or a demo, please come and see us.
