Audio Video Systems Opens New Office in Huntsville, Alabama – Leading tech firm continues to grow and expand

Chantilly, VA – March 8, 2011 – Audio Video Systems, Inc. (AVS), a leading systems integration firm for government, military and commercial organizations, located in the Washington, D.C. region has opened a regional office in Huntsville, Alabama. The new office will focus on working closely with existing and future clients within the Alabama region.

The company’s expansion in Huntsville was precipitated by being chosen to provide audiovisual integration services for the U.S. Army Materiel Command’s (AMC) six-story headquarters being built at Redstone Arsenal, AL. AMC is in the process of transferring to Redstone as part of the Base Realignment and Closure Commission’s (BRAC) plan.

“Our steady growth over the last few years is a result of working at multiple locations across the country,? said Michele Ferreira, vice president of sales and marketing. “We thought it was important to be close to our customers and have a significant presence on-site and in the community, especially for large projects such as AMC BRAC.?

Darryl Palm was recently brought on to manage the Huntsville Office and AVS’ operations in the region. Before joining AVS, Palm spent more than 20 years with Palco Telcom Services in Huntsville, where he was the Vice President of Government Business Development, Engineering and IT Services.

AVS has also completed work at Redstone Arsenal for the U.S. Army’s CRXXI Modernization Program. “Having already done work in the region, we are excited about increasing our presence in the Huntsville business community,? said Ferreira.

The Huntsville expansion is another of many recent milestones for AVS. The company recently underwent a corporate restructuring to fulfill future growth requirements and to provide better service to its customers. As a result, the company reported its highest annual revenue in 2010 and won many local business awards in the D.C. region. Last summer, AVS moved its headquarters to a newly constructed 72,000 square foot facility in Chantilly, Virginia, which the company owns and operates.

The new office, which contains approximately 10,000 square feet of warehouse, office and integration space, is located at 2995 Wall Triana Highway, Suite B-8 in Huntsville.
