CLARK INTRODUCES NEW CD SERIES HD/SDI COAXIAL CABLES

Clark CD Series HD/SDI Coaxial Cables

Clark Wire & Cable™, NAB Booth #C5637, is introducing its new CD Series of HD/SDI coaxial cables for digital and High Definition video formats. Available in four sizes ranging from 23 gauge miniature to low-loss 14 gauge RG11 type coax, the CD series delivers broadcast-grade performance for demanding mobile production, studio, commercial AV, and large venue HD/SDI systems.

Designed for precision electrical performance in high-bandwidth applications, the CD series delivers the critical electrical characteristics required for 1.5 Gb/s and 3 Gb/s uncompressed video transmission, meeting or exceeding SMPTE 292M and 424M standards. Featuring a gas-injected, precision 75 Ohm dielectric and a 4.5 GHz rated bandwidth, all CD Series coax is sweep-tested and 100% verified to guarantee consistent and dependable performance.

The CD series coax also delivers exceptional mechanical performance. Crush resistance and aging characteristics meet or exceed industry standards to ensure long-term performance and durability. The highly uniform dielectric cell structure and tight tolerance conductor diameter achieve low return-loss characteristics that minimize bit-errors and jitter in the transmission line.

For ease of installation the CD series has several installer-friendly, timesaving features. The outer jacket is constructed from a flexible, low-pressure PVC compound that is easy to manage and strip with manual or automated strippers. The double foil and braid shield utilizes Clark’s unique Kiss-Bond™ lightly bonded foil shield technology. Unlike traditional bonded or non-bonded cables, Kiss-Bond™ foil shielding delivers the superior impedance matching performance of a bonded foil shield while still being removable for installers that prefer to remove the foil during connector termination.

Available in four sizes: the RG59 CD7559, the RG6 CD7506, the RG11 CD7511, and the 23AWG miniature CD7523, all standard size RG types are available in both plenum and riser UL rated versions.

“The CD series coaxial cables are Clark Wire & Cable’s newest and best performing HD/SDI coaxial cables. Designed for both current and future HD/SDI formats, the CD Series delivers the critical performance require for both 1.5 Gb/s and 3 Gb/s transmission formats,? stated Scott Fehl, Product Marketing Manager for Clark Wire & Cable. “Always keeping the installer in mind, Clark has also built in several features that make the CD series easy to terminate and connectorize. The low-pressure jacket is easy-to-strip while our Kiss-Bond™ foil shield technology gives the installer the option of leaving on or removing the foil shield.?
