FOR-A UNVEILS MODULAR FRAME RATE CONVERTER AT NAB 2011
Fort Lee, N.J. – FOR-A, a leading manufacturer of video and audio systems for the broadcast and professional video industries, will introduce the UFM-30FRC Frame Rate Converter at the 2011 NAB Show in Las Vegas, Nev., April 11-14 (Booth C5219). The latest member of FOR-A’s cost-effective family of UFM modular solutions, it can perform a wide variety of format conversions, including 1080/59.94i, 1080/50i, 720/59.94p, 720/50p, 525/60, and 625/50.
Equipped with HD/SD-SDI and analog composite I/O, the UFM-30FRC offers two types of conversion modes to deliver optimal results for various applications. A “linear converter mode performs a simple frame rate conversion based on the previous and next frames, while a “motion compensation processing mode detects the motion vector amount of a moving object and generates the object’s motion in frames. With its built-in up/down/cross converters, the UFM-30FRC can also upconvert SD signals to HD signals, downconvert HD to SD, and cross-convert between 1080i and 720p.
The UFM-30FRC is designed for installation in FOR-A’s UFM series of universal frames.
