BTX Breakthrough Changes Control Systems Landscape

Groundbreaking Control Solution Allows Dealers to Expand the Market for Control Systems and Establish a Profitable New Revenue Stream

HAWTHORNE, N.Y. — March 24, 2011 — BTX Technologies, a global value-added distributor and manufacturer of interface and integration products, today announced a fresh new approach to control system integration. This innovative and affordable solution allows non-programmers to “program” a control system through a simple yet robust drag-and-drop interface.

“BTX Control Solutions provide dealers with an avenue to reach customers who, until now, wouldn’t invest in a control system due to cost,” said Mark Chernoff, director of marketing and strategic sales for BTX. “There is a whole segment of the A/V market that will now have an opportunity to get on board with control, while creating a profitable new revenue stream for our participating integration customers.”

BTX Control Solutions include the multi-award-winning, software-based universal control platform from Stardraw. Its drag-and-drop interface allows systems to be configured and controlled without having to write a single line of code. Stardraw is the ideal solution for even the most sophisticated systems used to control and monitor hardware devices over any protocol.

Also included in the offering are elegant and affordable desktop and in-wall touch-panel controllers. And thanks to the platform’s support of WebServices, any device that supports HTTP or runs a browser can also be used as an interface to talk to the Stardraw Control system, including an iPod touch(R), iPhone(R), and iPad(R).

The last piece of the control puzzle is integrating unconnected devices into the network. BTX is a master distributor of Global Caché devices which are designed to connect almost any device to a network in a matter of minutes. Based on open systems and industry standards, the ultra-compact devices fit almost anywhere, and include a choice of wireless (Wi-Fi) or wired (TCP/IP) connectivity to infrared (IR), serial (RS-232), and contact closure (relay) equipment.

Utilizing Global Caché’s network adapters, the most commonly used devices can be easily managed and accessed via the Stardraw network-based software. These adapters connect a TCP/IP network to IR, serial, and relay communications — including sensor inputs — that can work, interrupt, or be polled by another network device. An embedded Web server allows for easy configuration from any browser.

BTX Control Solutions provide integrators with a single source supplier for hardware, software, and support. BTX is a fully trained and authorized Stardraw Control master distributor, offering level 1 and level 2 technical support. The company’s national field sales force is available for dealer trainings and buddy calls to end users.
