A virtual press conference from Sound & Video Contractor

FRANKFURT, APRIL 6, 2011 — Since their inception, Aviom Personal Mixers have been used everywhere from Broadway to colleges and on tour with world-famous musicians. As one of the first personal mixing options to hit the market, Aviom’s personal mixers have been the industry standard for live sound and recording installations. Aviom will have its complete line of Pro16 and Pro64 audio distribution solutions on display at Musikmesse/Prolight + Sound 2011 (Hall 8.0, Stand J70A).

Aviom’s current version of the personal mixer, the A-16II, is known for giving musicians the ability to create custom monitor mixes tailored to their individual needs, while making the monitor engineer’s job significantly easier. In addition to offering the ability to create up to 16 presets per unit, the A-16IIs are recognized for their well-proven ease of use and compatibility with many popular front-of-house consoles.

“We are very proud that Aviom’s Personal Mixers have become the tried and true choice within the audio industry,? says Aviom President and Co-Founder, Carl Bader. “The A-16IIs have been used by everyone from world-class artists to the newest generation of audio professionals, and we have been so pleased to see this tradition continue on stage and in facilities around the world.?

Aviom’s A-16IIs have become an integral part of many monitoring setups for concert tours. Musicians and audio crew members on Michael Bublé’s 2010 international “Crazy Love? tour were “crazy? about the Pro16 Personal Mixers. Used as part of the monitoring setup for the brass section, the mixers offered crew members the ease of configuration they required while providing musicians with a customized monitor mix. The horn players turned to Aviom for the recent tour after their great success with the A-16IIs during Bublé’s 2007 “Call Me Irresponsible? tour. Aviom’s Personal Mixers also provided audio support for other recent tours for performers such as internationally renowned rock group Linkin Park, alternative rock band Candlebox, and Chinese rock singer Chao Chuan. A favorite among drummers, the A-16II Personal Mixer’s fans include Danny Seraphine, Felix “D-Kat? Pollard and Trevor Lawrence.

Last year, Aviom also helped commemorate the 60th anniversary performance of Italy’s celebrated Sanremo Music Festival by supplying more than 25 A-16IIs to the show’s entire orchestra. Each year, the popular Italian song contest hosts musicians from all over Italy, who perform original Italian language pieces. Aviom personal mixers have become an essential part of the gear used by the festival’s performers.

Professional recording artists can find the ever-familiar Pro16 Personal Mixers being used in more places than just the stage. Over the years, the Personal Mixers have been installed as part of the cue system in recording studios around the world from Australia’s Heliport Studios, Germany’s Sound Trekker Studios, and Denmark’s Medley Studios to The Bamboo Room and Cottonhill Studios in the United States.

The A-16IIs are a constant on many Broadway productions as well, where they are used as part of the monitoring setup for the orchestras of shows such as Promises, Promises; Come Fly Away and La Cage aux Folles. Aviom’s foray into the musical theater goes beyond the big lights of New York City as its Pro16 Personal Mixers are also used on the German stage production of BUDDY –The Buddy Holly Musical and the Paris sets of Zorro the Musical and The Lion King, as well as other productions throughout Europe.

Aviom Personal Mixers are also permanently installed in theaters and multipurpose halls throughout the world for all types of musical performances. Mazowsze, Poland’s national folk song and dance ensemble, installed the mixing system in its newly constructed theater located at the European Regional and National Culture Promotion Center in Karolin, Poland. The state-of-the-art Spectacle-Education Hall houses the Aviom Pro16 system for the most demanding concerts and musical events. In Japan, the New National Theatre Tokyo uses Aviom Personal Mixers in each of the venue’s three theaters. When the newly built, 400-seat performance arts venue, Theatre at the Mill, located in Belfast, Ireland, needed a reliable way to monitor sound for its premiere production, a staging of the hit musical Sweeney Todd, it cast Aviom A-16II Personal Mixers in a major supporting role. From their success with Sweeney Todd, the personal mixers have become an important part of the theater’s monitoring setup.

Beyond the professional recording and live musical performances, Aviom’s Pro16 Personal Mixers provide several uses within educational settings. While some schools install the gear in studios for audio classes, others rely on the mixers for their theater productions and courses. At Canada’s University of Lethbridge, the Aviom Personal Mixers serve a multitude of functions for the school including music recording, theater production and traditional campus events. Ball State University’s Music Technology Program uses the system in its studios to provide hands-on experience in audio production, digital music technology and music creation. Aviom also provides assistance for the recording facilities at Towson University and Widener University.
