Expanding upon the on-demand content featured on the site during previous events, the NAB Show is for the first time featuring official daily webcasts, live from the show floor. The automated, high-performance Digital Rapids Transcode Manager software is being used in the production of on-demand content for the third consecutive year, while the TouchStream portable live streaming appliance is being used for encoding and streaming of the live webcasts.

Production teams are capturing and editing video throughout the event, including daily highlights packages; feature segments from the exhibition floor; selections from NAB sessions, luncheons and keynotes; interviews and more. The Transcode Manager software transforms the finished video segments into the formats required for online viewing. The resulting high-quality media files are then delivered to content distribution provider Highwinds for on-demand delivery to viewers through the Show’s website. more

Loud & Clear’s Bill Deavers at Miami University’s Hall Auditorium, the setting for The Ides of March‘s debate scene

CINCINNATI, Ohio — Celebrated actor and director George Clooney recently spent several months in Ohio and Michigan shooting scenes for The Ides of March, a new film scheduled to premiere later this year. Both starring and directed by Clooney, The Ides of March is based on Beau Willimon’s play, Farragut North, about a governor campaigning in the presidential primaries.

Bill Deavers of Cincinnati-based Loud & Clear, Inc. was hired by the film’s production team to serve as a political consultant and provide sound reinforcement for the pivotal Democratic debate scene, which was filmed in early March at Miami University’s Hall Auditorium in Oxford, Ohio. As he had done for many “real” presidents and presidential contenders in the past, Deavers chose to specify an L-ACOUSTICS system for the event. more
