Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems to Launch Dugan-MY16 at NAB Exhibition

LAS VEGAS, Nevada—Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems, Inc. and Dan Dugan Sound Design announce the launch of the Dugan-MY16 card for current model Yamaha digital mixers and processors including Yamaha 01V96, DM1000, 02R96, DM2000, M7CL, LS9, DSP5D, PM5D, and DME24/64N. Austin City Limits Live, a live-music venue that hosts the long-running “Austin City Limits” television show as well as 60-100 concerts and other live events annually, has taken delivery of three Robert Juliat Victor 1159 1800W followspots. The fixtures, which were supplied by Texas Scenic, made their debut at the gala opening of the new venue.

Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater is a state-of-the-art $40 Million, 2700 + person capacity venue on three levels. It offers in-house sound and a video control studio as well as a 40 automated head lighting package with innovative optics, and digital consoles plus a conventional lighting package for TV.

NewTek to Mentor Students from Full Sail University at NAB 2011

OverTone Over the Top with Yamaha LS9 Digital Audio Console

BUENA PARK, Calif.—OverTone is a group of seven young a’cappella performers hailing from South Africa. Their recent success includes nine songs performed for the Oscar-nominated film Invictus, directed by Clint Eastwood, who with his wife discovered the band on a trip to South Africa. They have performed as guest artists for the GRAMMY®-winning One Republic and have toured with Platinum selling artist Corrine Bailey Rae, to name a few.

OverTone just finished up a two-month stint at The Wynn Las Vegas. James ‘Jimbo’ Oneal, independent front of house engineer was hired by Rhino Sound in Las Vegas to man a Yamaha LS9-16, owned by The Wynn and purchased specifically for the OverTone shows. The band played 15 short performances per day, six days a week in various locations throughout the resort.
