Point Source Audio IP Microphones Previewing at InfoComm 2011
New Microphones Harness Power of the IP Network for Paging, Surveillance and Recording
Novato, Calif. — Point Source Audio, manufacturer of the one-of-a-kind “unbreakable boom earworn microphone, is extending their offering to include IP enabled microphones designed for pro-audio applications such as paging, surveillance and recording. A convenient selection of desk-top and surface-mount microphones is coupled with an IP audio codec to help integrators easily source solutions for distributing audio over an IP network. InfoComm visitors are invited to view the new IP Microphones at the Point Source Audio Booth 820-822 at InfoComm 2011 in Orlando, Florida.
“We took our Point Source microphone expertise along with our knowledge of Digigram IP audio codecs to create an IP microphone offering that is an expedient solution for integrators, said James Lamb, President of Point Source Audio. “Audio over IP will play an increasing role in the audio distribution landscape. These IP microphones are entirely scalable—allowing customers to leverage an existing IP network and avoid the high cost of traditional cabling and infrastructure. The IP microphones are powered with the PYKO IP audio codec from Digigram for extreme reliability and performance, and are a cost-effective alternative wherever traditional applications for distributed audio exist.
While the PYKO IP audio codec has its roots in STL, this Audio over IP technology is far-reaching beyond broadcast. The IP microphones are specifically developed to address the growing number of integrators needing the convenience of a complete Audio over IP microphone solution for pro-audio applications. The IP microphones can be easily configured for one-to-one, one-to-many, or many-to-one. The IP Microphones are ideally suited for school and business paging, courtroom recording, remote voice-over, and surveillance or monitoring.
