Premier audio transformer manufacturer continues to strengthen and grow

CANOGA PARK, California — Following the sad news of Tom Reichenbach’s recent passing, CineMag is publicly pledging its commitment to carry on the tradition of excellence established by its founder and former president.

“Although we have lost a great and loyal friend, as well as a tremendous talent, we have chosen to honor Tom by strengthening and growing this company that had been his passion for more than three decades,” says CineMag President David Geren.

“New orders are coming in faster than ever. To meet this increased demand we’ve hired additional personnel to expand our production capabilities. And, as we have always done, all of our R&D, manufacturing, testing and quality control will continue to be carried out here in-house allowing us to maintain the industry’s lowest price points and highest reliability.”

Geren, who has been a close friend and business associate of the Reichenbach family since working with Tom’s father, Ed, in the early ’70s further notes that CineMag will naturally continue to pioneer new magnetics designs for its clients in addition to stocking its full range of superior audio transformers and inductors.

The bottom line, Geren adds, is that “we are continuing business stronger than ever, which is what Tom said that he wished for our company.”

CineMag traces its lineage back to World War II in the 1940s when Ed Reichenbach designed transformers for Altec Lansing. Ed eventually formed Reichenbach Engineering and developed a line of transformers that became ubiquitous standards for leading pro audio companies like Electrodyne, Langevin, Quad-Eight, Sphere and many others. Tom began helping his father in the shop in 1953 as a youngster and ultimately founded CineMag at Reichenbach Engineering in 1979 with the mission to create the world’s best audio magnetics components.

Located in Canoga Park, California, CineMag is the pro audio industry’s premier supplier of high-quality transformers. Today, CineMag provides the transformers of choice for a myriad of discerning manufacturers — such as A-Designs Audio, AEA, API, ATK Audiotek, Bock Audio, Pearlman, Tonelux, Trident and Universal Audio — as well as for Northrop Grumman and clients in other industries.
