Latest Grass Valley Technologies at InfoComm 2011 Support Powerful Presentation Workflows

San Francisco, Calif., June 2, 2011, (InfoComm 2011—Booth#1062) — Several of the latest technologies and systems from Grass Valley™ that solve complex A/V production and presentation problems in a highly efficient and cost-effective way will be on display during the InfoComm 2011 conference, scheduled for June 11-17 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.

This year, Grass Valley’s products will be exhibited by Starin Marketing (booth #1062), a North American distribution partner for Grass Valley Pro AV products. Starin also assists its customers in the selection and installation of portable and fixed presentation systems.

Among a number of useful technologies displayed in hands-on demonstrations, the ADVC-G Series of signal converters from Grass Valley represent a new benchmark in the industry by offering support for full bandwidth “any signal-in, any signal-out? conversions in small footprint “brick-style? form factors that are as versatile as they are powerful.

In addition to the new line of compact signal converters, several new options for the highly popular Grass Valley T2™ intelligent digital disk recorder (iDDR) will be highlighted, including a better operator experience—due to improved processing speed and several new keyboard shortcuts—as well as a new QoS feature that streamlines clip record and playback capabilities.

There is also new optional support for content stored on P2 solid-state cards and XCDAM optical disc media. With these new options, users of the T2 iDDR can now play back HD clips compressed with both professional codecs (AVC-Intra/DVCPRO and MPEG-2, 4:2:0/4:2:2, respectively) without the need for time-consuming transcoding. In addition, the new Alpha option for the T2 iDDR lets users separate the alpha channel from the source and then set key and fill on two fully synchronized channels for simultaneous playback.
