Guifx Licenses v2 Transports Font Package to ControlWorks Consulting

Guifx Font to Be Distributed With ControlWorks’ Latest Control Module for Logitech(R) Squeezebox(TM)

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — June 6, 2011 — Guifx, an interface design studio specializing in touchscreen interfaces for home automation and embedded systems, today announced that it has licensed its Guifx v2 Transports font package to ControlWorks Consulting LLC, a Crestron Authorized Independent Programmer. ControlWorks will utilize the fonts to create a sleek look for the sample user interface (UI) of the company’s updated control module for Logitech(R) Squeezebox(TM), and the company will distribute the fonts with the module to make programming more convenient for integrators.

ControlWorks’ popular Squeezebox module creates a powerful music experience on any Crestron touchpanel by connecting to Internet radio, Sirius, Pandora, Last.fm, Slacker, Napster, and Media Fly. The version 11 module release introduces Series-3 processor compatibility, SystemBuilder compatibility, several performance enhancements, and new options for smaller user interfaces. In addition to accessing online music sources, the module also allows for browsing and playback of the user’s local MP3 library.

For the module, Guifx’s v2 Transports font package creates a more intuitive user experience with 58 stylish, commonly used audio and video transport symbols. To improve usability even further, the Guifx v2 Transports Labeled font is unique in that it also features the icon’s label directly below the icon.

Both fonts are available as a free download at http://blog.guifx.com/category/downloads/fonts/. By distributing them with its Squeezebox module, ControlWorks is providing integrators with a complete package and simplified programming, allowing them to use the same high-quality fonts as in the sample UI without having to download them separately.

“Guifx has been an important resource for ControlWorks since the release of the Series 02 templates. The company has consistently elevated the graphical UI experience, an area that typically gets little attention by the control system programmer,” said Jim Felderman, president of ControlWorks Consulting. “With the release of version 11 of our Logitech Squeezebox module, we are happy to include the Guifx v2 Transports font package. This not only makes our module demonstration panels look better, but also makes the installation process easier for the Crestron dealer utilizing our module and the sample UI.”

“ControlWorks is very well regarded in our industry, and it’s a pleasure to include the company in our growing list of distinguished Guifx font licensees,” said Morgan Strauss, president at Guifx. “Offering a sleek look and improved usability, our v2 Transports font package is simply the best of its kind, and our goal is to make it the industry standard. We welcome all industry partners to apply for a license.”
