PESA to demonstrate a full line of HD-SDI/DVI/HDMI signal processing and distribution products at Infocomm 2011

Huntsville, Alabama – June 12, 2011 –PESA, a U.S. manufacturer of high performance video and audio distribution solutions will exhibit their Vidblox™, Quadbox™, Cattrax™, Ocelot3™, Cougar3™, Jaguar3™, PESA PRO™, DRS™ Audio and Panthera™ products to support switching, conversion, multi-window processing, and transport of advanced 3G/HD-SDI, HDMI, DVI, Audio and H.264 compression during the Infocomm 2011 Show, June 15-17.

With the world’s only multi-fiber, multi-coax extender products, PESA’s Vidblox™ fiber and coax extenders provide unmatched video image scaling, VGA to DVI digital signal conversion, and shared video source management in the smallest footprint package available. Vidblox extenders save on installation space and valuable time during setup and configuration. With the professional AV market becoming increasingly reliant on high resolution video (such as 1080p60) PESA products are the perfect match to combine computer and television signals under one unified distribution system. Vidblox are based on the SMPTE industry standard for television broadcast so issues like inconsistent image quality, noise, and image degradation are virtually eliminated.

PESA’s Panthera™ multiviewer products offer a series of compact, multi-window video image processors that provide up to 72 simultaneous images displayed on a projector or monitor wall display.

With PESA’s Quadbox™ , Ocelot3™, Cougar3™, Jaguar3™, and Cheetah3™ high definition video switching and routing solutions, signals can be routed to and from AV control rooms through coax or fiber optic cabling insuring the highest security content distribution for up to 1024 video sources to 1024 video displays.

For example, PESA’s new Ocelot3™ OC44-3G-P4 Router Switch offers full auto equalization at each input for cable lengths over 300m (1000 ft) at 720p and 100m (300 ft) at 1080i or 1080p. Each output port can be configured for standard SMPTE reclocking data rates or set for auto-bypass mode when non-SMPTE signals are required. This unit is capable of storing multiple switch presets and provides glitch-free switching with Genlocked sources. Signal management control includes breakaway level switching and output signal locking. The OC44-3G-P4 is configurable for a variety of control options including Ethernet connectivity, RS-232 serial control, or from a local pushbutton control panel. Additionally, PESA’s open control system protocol is easily configurable by many third party management systems. Each OC44-3G-P4 comes standard with PESA’s Virtual Panel, a Windows® GUI interface or it can be upgraded to the full-featured Cattrax™ network based control and diagnostics software program.
For small to medium sized routing switch requirements, PESA’s new Cougar VAC studio package combines video, audio and router control into one efficient and easy-to-install package. Each Cougar VAC can support up to 32X32 high definition video and 32X32 AES or 64X64 mono audio signals in a compact 2RU package. For simplified control, each system includes a local 32X backlit pushbutton panel, while the built-in SSC Controller offers comprehensive configuration and diagnostics support through an Ethernet interface. The Cougar VAC supports ASI, SDI, HD-SDI and 3G-SDI for a full range of digital video transports up to 1080p/60. Audio capabilities include support for AES/EBU, Analog Audio, or MADI all within one distributed system. Audio connector styles include 75 Ohm BNC and 6-Pin Pluggable connectors.
PESA’s network-based Cattrax™ software ties everything together on a network and enables full control of devices, such as cameras, recorders, computers, and switchers, from any location.
For the professional A/V markets, PESA’s PRO-8X8-HDMI-CAT enables users to easily connect up to eight HDMI sources, such as Blu-Ray Disc Players, DVD players, DVR recorders, Satellite TV set-top boxes, HDMI cameras, computers, and game consoles to eight HDMI displays. The frame features High Bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) compatibility which eliminates the problems normally encountered with HDCP encoding on switching devices that send video transports simultaneously to more than one display. The PESA PRO-8X8-HDMI-CAT is an innovative product that fulfills professional A/V integration requirements for multi-source HDMI distribution, making it effective for use with all HDMI displays and projection systems found in corporate, government, educational, or digital signage settings.
Housed in a compact enclosure, the frame is easily positioned on a table top or installed in a 1RU space with the optional mounting ears. The PRO-8X8-HDMI-CAT is compliant with HDMI version 1.3 and supports resolutions up to 1080p60 with 36-bit color depth, Dolby TrueHD, and DTS-HD. This HDMI compliant switcher accepts up to 8 HDMI direct connections on the inputs and dual-port RJ45 cable connections on the outputs. For each output, a CAT 5/6 to HDMI mini-receiver is included for cable conversion, EDID communications, and equalization adjustments. The mini-receiver is connected via two CAT 5/6 cables (TMDS and DDC) supporting HDMI distribution up to 35m for 1080p60. The receiver is powered from the CAT 5/6 cabling, so no additional power supply is required. Additionally, users can switch among the 8 HDMI sources remotely using a pushbutton selector on each receiver. The PRO-8X8-HDMI-CAT switcher provides the highest video quality with HDTV 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i and 1080p resolutions as well as VGA up to WUXGA (1920X1200) resolutions. Further, the built-in IR extension function enables users to make selections remotely via the source’s remote control unit.
The PRO-8X8-HDMI-CAT enables fast and easy switching by pressing buttons on the front panel, selecting ports via a supplied remote control, through an RS-232 serial port with the supplied software or any 3rd party control systems supporting RS-232 interfaces. Each HDMI switcher comes with direct switching software which can be installed on a host PC running the Windows® operating system.
