One of only a handful of 8� wireless rock speakers on the market, the OSD WR800 will have an introductory price of $299.95. “There are a few models similar to our new 8� wireless rock speaker but they’re priced much higher than the WR800, “ notes� Tim Leahy, OSD Audio’s Director of North American Sales. “Our goal was to create a bigger more accurate sound utilizing the advantages of a wireless connection. The OSD-WR800 all-weather wireless rock speaker is an easy and effective way to bring sound outdoors without having to run wires directly from the source. Utilizing the 2.4 GHz-2.48 GHz frequency, which is less likely to experience interference from other wireless devices like cordless phones, the WR800 boasts a range of up to 300 feet (unobstructed) and easily connects to iPods, MP3 players, A/V receivers, computers, or other source equipment. The heart of the OSD-WR800, however, is its beefy 8″ polypropylene cone woofer with butyl rubber surround for superb bass response, a feature often lacking in wireless speakers. Combined with 50W power handling, the OSD-WR800 is poised to become one of the best selling wireless rock speakers on the market.
