HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — July 26, 2011 — Women in Consumer Electronics, an industry organization which promotes the advancement of women in the consumer electronics industry, today announced that it will hold its third annual CEDIA EXPO breakfast event on Saturday, Sept. 10 from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. at the Indiana Convention Center, Sagamore Ballroom 7. Tickets go on sale via the organization’s website at www.WomenInCe.org on Aug. 1 or they can be purchased onsite. A keynote speaker will be announced shortly. Tickets cost $25 each for members and $35 each for nonmembers.

Women in CE provides women in the consumer electronics industry with a community in which to share essential resources and connect with others who are focused on the same vision of empowerment, building networks, and supporting career opportunities. Member benefits include a mentoring program, online resources, and live events.

A staple of Women in CE is its mentoring program, which consists of a mentor serving as role model, friend, listener, resource, advisor, guide, teacher, sounding board, and positive support system to mentees. A committee of “support specialists” helps to bring mentors and mentees together. All members of Women in CE can apply to be a mentor or mentee. Mentors can come from all levels of experience and mentees do not need to be new to the workforce.
