Vaddio White Paper Looks at The New Group Meeting: “How the PC Delivers Better Audiovisual Solutions”

Today, increased bandwidth and affordable cloud-based services give even the smallest businesses and educational facilities the ability to offer on-demand content, real-time collaboration, and streaming media.

Vaddio EasyUSB Tools White Paper

Vaddio EasyUSB Tools White Paper

There are many advantages—increased productivity, reduced costs, and new business opportunities, to name a few—to high-quality audio visual (AV) capabilities such as video conferencing, lecture capture, conference calls, and web meetings. Traditionally, each of these AV capabilities is considered a specific application, requiring a separate appliance-based solution. For example, video conferencing requires a video codec, lecture capture requires a recording system, audio conferencing requires a conference phone, and web meetings need a PC with a web camera.

The challenges to appliance-based and often proprietary solutions are many. First, the financial investment to purchase these separate systems puts the full array of AV meeting tools out of reach for most small- to mid-sized businesses and educational facilities. Second, supporting and maintaining disparate, nonintegrated systems is an IT nightmare. Finally, since it isn’t practical to outfit a single room with all the equipment required to accommodate every conceivable AV usage scenario, multiple rooms need to be available.

In this white paper, we’ll discuss how to provide a simple and affordable solution to these challenges using a device that is already in most meeting rooms—the PC.

Bright Technologies To Unleash BrightClip Advanced Recording Technology As a Standalone Solution at NAB 2012

BRIGHTCLIP SA ENSURES LONG-TERM HIGH-PERFORMANCE FOR ALL STORAGE INFRASTRUCTURES

Reno, USA– Bright Technologies, Inc., developer of advanced technology for shared media, has announced the availability of BrightClip® – their core technology – as a standalone solution. BrightClip SA (Stand Alone) will be launched officially at NAB 2012 in Bright’s Booth SL 8410.

BrightClip®
The breakthrough development presents the media & entertainment industry, including the post-production community, video integrators, solution providers, and storage vendors/manufacturers, with the opportunity to incorporate Bright’s astonishing patent-pending advanced recording technology into every Meta Data Controller (MDC) ensuring that the underlying storage subsystem doesn’t lose performance due to scattered file layout!

Field-proven BrightClip is engineered specifically to eliminate the most disruptive and productivity-damaging factors for a studio workflow process, including high latencies, dropped frames, and stuttering video. The technology maximizes data storage performance and reliability, stability, and predictability in every SAN environment allowing the facility to focus on their creative processes, reducing downtime and maintenance, and increasing profitability.

BrightClip handles large streaming file formats and file-based clip sequences – without fragmentation, sequence randomization, or interleaving by eliminating all root causes. It proactively creates and maintains optimal file layout on the storage at all times – and in real-time.
“BrightClip is the key component that makes our BrightDrive SAN Servers for Media the most reliable high-performance MDC in the field, with the highest level of operational stability and predictable performance,” stated Shawn Clark, Bright’s director of sales. “Releasing BrightClip as an independent technology is a big step for Bright Technologies as now every MDC can leverage the outstanding functionality of BrightClip. The impressive ROI of BrightClip shows that with a rather small investment customers can gain tremendous benefits – both in terms of workflow enhancement and even financially.”

Added Roger Beck, chief technology officer, “From the technical perspective, BrightClip stands unique as no other vendor in the field has accomplished anything similar. BrightClip is an outstanding technology and the only proactive solution to create and maintain proper file recording for high-performance shared disk SANs in real-time and in the long term. With minimal technical requirements to hardware, BrightClip ensures sequential file allocation without the need to worry about fragmentation, randomization, or inter-leaved files. It’s truly revolutionary!”

BrightClip will still be included as standard with BrightDrive SAN Servers for Media.

ASHLY PEMA™ IN THE BIG HOUSE

yaphank_correctional.JPGLONG ISLAND, NEW YORK – MARCH 2012: Although the universe of institutions that require professional sound reinforcement includes churches, schools, and other places that can make a sound integrator feel warm and fuzzy at the end of the day, it is also populated by places like the Yaphank Correctional Facility (YCF) on Long Island, New York. The new $133-million building will house 650 inmates when it is finally commissioned for operation in the spring of 2012. To deliver both routine and safety-related information, Pro Sound Alliance (Troy, New York) a division of Live Sound, Inc., provided a three-tiered redundant paging system centered on the (figuratively) bulletproof Ashly Pema(tm).

The new YCF is designed around six “pods,” each of which will house one-hundred, or so, inmates in a way that maximizes the efficiency with which they can be guarded. Beyond the pods, more

Vaddio’s New EasyTALK Audio Components Deliver Professional-Grade Audio Performance Over USB 2.0

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (March 15, 2012) – Vaddio’s EasyTALK USB is a suite of professional audio components that allow integrators the ability to get professional-grade audio performance from their computers. With USB connectivity, you now have an easy way to add high quality microphones and loudspeakers to your computer system. Because the EasyTALK audio devices use a standard UAC driver, no special USB drivers need to be installed. As a result they work seamlessly with any software application running on any OS that supports USB 2.0 devices.

“Our EasyTalk audio systems were designed with the goal of achieving high-quality audio from a computer,” explained President of Vaddio, said Rob Sheeley. “This required us to optimize the USB audio stream to professional audio wideband standards and develop both microphones and audio amplifiers that could deliver the highest quality performance.”

The EasyUSB Mixer Amp supports up to two EasyTALK MicPOD microphones. In addition, analog line level I/O interfaces allow for integration with external AV equipment such as videoconferencing codecs, external amplifiers or LCD displays. The EasyUSB Mixer Amp also has a 2 x 20 watt integrated audio amplifier for connection to external 4/8-Ohm speakers.

The EasyMIC MicPOD microphones deliver the performance of three microphones built into an elegant tabletop or pendant hanging enclosure. With ultra wide 360-degree pickup coverage, one MicPOD is capable of providing excellent coverage for an average size meeting room table. For those larger tables a second MicPOD can be added for additional coverage.

Each Microphone element is equipped with integrated echo cancelation and Digital Signal Processing, including compression, equalization, filtering and AGC or automatic gain control. They are offered in both tabletop and ceiling configurations to meet your installation needs. Because of the plug-and-play design, installation is as simple as connecting Cat. 5 cable between the EasyUSB Mixer Amp and the EasyMICs. Power, control and audio are all incorporated into the single cable.

When added to your PC, EasyTALK audio solutions create a variety of professional-grade audio systems that allow users to engage in any type of capture, collaboration and conference activity.
