Gefen’s New 8×8 Matrix for HDMI with FST Currently Shipping
Gefen’s recently announced Gefen ToolBox 8×8 CrossPoint Matrix for HDMI with FST (Fast Switching Technology) is currently shipping. Ideal for digital signage, post-production or home theater applications, this wall-mountable matrix connects any eight high definition sources to any eight HDTV displays. It works with Blu-ray players, gaming consoles, tablets and set-top boxes as well as displays and projectors equipped with HDMI. Users switch 1080p full HD video with digital audio between all eight hi-def sources and displays with support for 3DTV pass-through.
This matrix comes with Gefen’s FST, which vastly improves the time it takes for HDMI to switch different sources to a display. A transition that could typically take up to 10 seconds is now reduced to no delay. This is achieved through an improvement of the HDCP (high-bandwidth digital content protection) handshaking process, which has been implemented into this new 8×8 matrix.
The Gefen ToolBox 8×8 Matrix for HDMI with FST comes in a slender enclosure that can be mounted on any wall. Installation requires the connection of up to eight sources and eight displays to the Matrix’s eight HDMI inputs and outputs. Convenient front-panel control buttons, IR remote, RS-232 and IP control options are all available for system automaton.
“This enhanced 8×8 matrix also offers a lower price point compared to previous, similar product offerings, making it a great buy,” added Hagai Gefen, president and CEO. Gefen.
