IRVINE, Calif., June 12, 2012 —Mitsubishi Electric Visual Solutions America, Inc. exhibits two new edge-lit, LED monitors at InfoComm, the largest audio/visual industry show in the country. The narrow bezel flagship 70-inch MDT701S and 55-inch MDT552S LED monitors are being shown for the first time in Mitsubishi’s Booth #C8308 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, June 13-15, 2012.

“Our new monitors are designed to create a spectacular image in a super-thin design using edge-lit LED technology that is perfect for today’s conference rooms and digital signage applications,” said Brandon Tarnow, brand manager, Mitsubishi Electric Visual Solutions America, Inc.

In the latest nod to open standards, these new monitors offer an Intel OPS (Open Pluggable Standard) Card Slot for easy installation and maintenance. They also come with built-in speakers that fire toward the bottom to eliminate sound reverberation, which often occurs with rear-directed speakers.

Connecting to various devices is simple with the built-in, plug-and-play USB Hub. Users can connect a video conference camera, mouse and keyboard directly to the monitor, avoiding messy cables. Five additional hubs can be cascaded onto the system so that up to sixteen separate peripherals can be connected at once.

As the first manufacturer to announce a Crestron Connected™ display, Mitsubishi Electric’s new monitors can be easily connected to any enterprise network using standard Ethernet cable and Crestron software. For quick point-to-point network management and control, users download free RoomView® Express software to any connected laptop or PC or select server-based Fusion RV™ for global enterprise management from anywhere, anytime using any web-enabled laptop computer, Apple® or Android™ smart phone or tablet. The displays can be seamlessly monitored, managed and controlled using either RoomView Express or Fusion RV, with no programming required, or users take full control of the display from any Crestron control system.

These new LED monitors use Mitsubishi Electric’s proprietary algorithms to create Super Resolution, which can take a standard definition image and translate it into high-definition for a rich, detailed image.

Mitsubishi Electric’s MDT701S and MDT552S LED monitors offer front- and rear-ambient light sensors that detect lighting conditions in two areas. These sensors adjust the monitor’s brightness level and balance image brightness for optimum viewing.

“Digital signage and conference room applications need flat panel monitors that are robust and easy to install and use,” said James Chan, vice president, marketing, Mitsubishi Electric Visual Solutions America, Inc. “Our new monitors bring a combination of features that are important to today’s integrators and sophisticated end users.”

Both the MDT701S and MDT552S will be available in fourth quarter of 2012 through authorized Mitsubishi dealers.
