Hitachi Introduces New Classroom and Conference Room 3LCD Projectors

LAS VEGAS, Nevada, June 13, 2012 – At InfoComm 2012, Hitachi America, Ltd., Digital Media Division, Business Solutions Group today announced the next generation of its Classroom and Conference Room 3LCD projectors: the CP-X2015WN, CP-WX2515WN, CP-X2515WN, CP-X3015WN, CP-X4015WN and CP-WX3015WN. These new models offer networking capability, two USB ports and new ImageCare functionality.

The CP-X2015WN, CP-WX2515WN, CP-X2515WN, CP-X3015WN, CP-X4015WN and CP-WX3015WN all provide networking capability, allowing them to be remotely controlled via a LAN network connection. Hitachi’s exclusive PJMan Projector Management software gives users the ability to operate and monitor the projectors from a remote location, and receive diagnostic information (such as remaining lamp life), making these models ideal for installations where multiple projectors are used, such as an entire building or campus.

Two USB Type A inputs make it possible to use the optional USB wireless adapter and the Hitachi Wireless Pen Tablet (TB-1) USB receiver at the same time. In addition, projector settings can be transferred to other projectors via a USB memory stick. This makes it easy to use other projectors without having to take the time to configure the settings.

The CP-X2015WN, CP-WX2515WN, CP-X2515WN, CP-X3015WN, CP-X4015WN and CP-WX3015WN all feature ImageCare, which is a lamp power control function developed by Philips that will lower the total cost of ownership of the projector. ImageCare decreases energy usage, improves contrast ratio and can lengthen lamp life. Using Image Care technology, Intelligent Eco Mode automatically changes the brightness of the lamp according to the brightness level of the image. This feature gives optimal picture performance with maximum energy savings and can increase lamp life.

The Saver mode, based on ImageCare, reduces lamp power by 70 percent compared to the normal mode, resulting in considerable energy savings. Users can set the time for the Saver mode from one to 30 minutes. If the projected image does not change by the set time, the Saver mode is activated, reducing lamp brightness and lowering power consumption.

With Hitachi’s new Multi Projector function, users can project the same image to up to 12 projectors simultaneously, making it idea for presentations in large venues where a single screen would not be sufficient. In addition, Hitachi’s Moderator Control Mode lets users network 50 computers to the projector, with one computer acting as the moderator. This allows an instructor to use the moderator computer to select and project images from the students’ computers.

Each model includes Hitachi’s Campus Notification System and Network Messenger features for sending campus-wide announcements and important messages. Hitachi’s Projector Control (PJCtrl) application allows users to control the functions of their projector via a toolbar on their PC. Since all the functions for controlling the projector are on the PC, PJCtrl can help reduce costs associated with lost remote controls and battery replacement.

Brightness for each model is as follows:
- CP-X2015WN: 2,400 ANSI Lumens (XGA Resolution)
- CP-WX2515WN: 2,700 ANSI Lumens (WXGA Resolution)
- CP-X2515WN: 2,700 ANSI Lumens (XGA Resolution)
- CP-X3015WN: 3,200 ANSI Lumens (XGA Resolution)
- CP-X4015WN: 4,000 ANSI Lumens (XGA Resolution)
- CP-WX3015WN: 3,000 ANSI Lumens (WXGA Resolution)

Adaptive Video Walls and Displays Creates Massive Flown LCD Video Wall for New Surf The Musical Production

Potentially Record-Setting Display Submitted to Guinness World Book of Records

LAS VEGAS, JUNE 14, 2012 — Adaptive Video Walls and Displays (InfoComm Booth C9547), a division of Adaptive Technologies Group and the premier provider of innovative wall mountable, floor standing, interlocking and flyable video wall frames for multiple LCD, LED and plasma monitors, has teamed up with Sharp Electronics and WorldStage to create what may be the world’s largest flown LCD video wall display. The companies built the display for Surf the Musical, a new musical production in Las Vegas featuring the 1960s Songs of the Beach Boys, and it has been submitted to the Guinness Book of World Records.

For Surf the Musical, the rigged visuals will take up the entire stage backdrop of the show. Crew members will hoist and lower them with powerful winches up to 41 times over the course of the nearly two-hour show. Adaptive Video Walls and Displays engineered an incredibly precise and load-rated flyable frame for the Sharp PN-V601 60-inch monitors, which make up the massive display.

The Adaptive Video wall LCD frame interlocks into eight-deep columns, in the landscape orientation. Overhead rigging beams accommodate one huge five-wide by eight-deep video wall comprised of 60-inch monitors that are flanked by two (four)-wide by eight-deep video walls, which are surrounded in turn by an additional two (two)–wide by eight-deep video walls, for a total of 136 pcs. monitors. The visual experience is extraordinary and the combined crisp and clear displays, along with the use of some external elements, bring the audience onto the stage and into the show, perhaps more than ever before.

In addition to the frames designed for use in this production, Adaptive Video Walls and Displays provides interlocking load-rated frames for many other LCD and plasma models that are employed in many permanent and rental and stage applications around the world, including narrow bezel models produced by NEC, Orion, Samsung and ViewSonic.

“We’re thrilled to provide the backdrop for such an exciting and innovative musical production as Surf the Musical,” says Paul Allen, president, Adaptive Technologies Group. “It goes to show how our years of engineering expertise in audio and video-wall frame technology can be leveraged for some of the most stunning visual events and productions in the world. We also want to acknowledge Sharp Electronics and WorldStage for working with us to make this record breaking display a reality. We hope that people will see it and realize just how far the technology has come, and how they can use it to truly add dazzle to their events.”

Surf the Musical premieres on June 19, 2012 at the Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. InfoComm attendees can view components of the Surf the Musical video display at the Adaptive Technologies Group booth (C9547).

Community Soups Up Richmond International Raceway

Richmond International Raceway is arguably one of the most popular racetracks in motorsports. “America’s Premier Short Track,” as it is known, is home to the annual NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and NASCAR Nationwide Series, as well as a full calendar of other events. With most races held under the lights, the 94,000-seat venue is outfitted with the latest in high-tech lighting, signage and sound, including a unique system of rear-firing loudspeakers from Community.

The track is covered by an assortment of Community WET and R-Series loudspeakers, mounted on poles behind the grandstands at a height of 25 to 30 meters. The system, designed by Wrightson, Johnson, Haddon & Williams (WJHW) and installed by Parsons Electric, is powered by Lab Gruppen amplification and utilizes Lake Systems DSP to provide delay and processing via a Dante network controller and fiber-optic digital distribution network that streamlines control of audio and video throughout the entire venue. As WJHW’s Jack McCallum explains, the rear-mounted system provides improved coverage and better sightlines for the audience and television cameras.

Selected for their superior weather resistance, powerful output, exceptional coverage and high intelligibility, Community WET and R-Series loudspeakers are a popular choice for many of the nation’s racetracks, sporting arenas and other venues where power and performance are key.
