MONTREAL, CANADA — MuxLab Inc. is thrilled with the pre-release response of the newest addition to its HDMI family; the HDMI over IP Converter. This new member of the MuxLab product line, previewed at the CEDIA Expo 2012 in Indianapolis, allows an HDMI source to be connected via any Ethernet LAN thereby allowing AV broadcasts to be set up and changed without the need for dedicated cabling system or AV matrix switch.

Developed for various applications including meeting and event broadcasts, digital signage, and digital video surveillance, the converter features two devices; the HDMI Encoder and the HDMI Decoder. The Encoder converts an HDMI signal into IP, thereby allowing it to be transmitted via an Ethernet 10/100/1000 BaseT LAN. The Decoder converts IP back to native HDMI for playback on an HDMI display.

Above being easy to use, the converter has features such as being compatible with HDMI 1.4, Ethernet 10/100/1000BaseT, PoE, up to 1080p resolution capability, unicasting and multicasting, bit rate and resolution management, and much more.

“When we envisioned this product we saw so many uses for it and we designed it to be able to perform in various applications,” said Marc Bohbot, MuxLab’s Director of Research and Development. “A good example would be using the converter to broadcast a video server output to any plasma display in a digital signage applicationâ€�.

Working in conjunction with DVD, plasma, projectors, monitors, TV, PC, laptops, and servers supporting HDMI, HDMI over IP Converter is a complete solution that is easy to install and simple to use, keeping the new product in line with the rest of the MuxLab family of products.
