Council Bluffs, IA – October 2012… Grund Audio Design, a pioneering manufacturer of loudspeaker and signal processing products for the audio professional, is pleased to announce the debut of the new VIP Series loudspeakers. Featuring 4 models—three of which are 3-way loudspeaker designs—the new Grund Audio Design VIP series feature the highest SPL sensitivity in their class, offer a sleek, modern design and appearance, and are an ideal solution for the AV installed sound market and AV presentation playback.

The new VIP series loudspeakers consist of the VIP-06, VIP-08, VIP-10, and VIP-12 models. These loudspeakers are passive designs (requiring external amplification) with high power capabilities and utilize injection molded enclosures—making them a terrific choice for a wide range of environments. As the smallest enclosure of the family, the VIP-06 is a 2-way design that utilizes a 1-inch HF dome tweeter coupled with 6.5-inch cone LF transducer. The VIP-06 provides a 68 Hz – 20 kHz frequency range for natural sounding program reproduction.

The Grund Audio Design VIP-08, VIP-10, and VIP-12 loudspeakers are all 3-way designs—an uncommon characteristic in loudspeakers of this class. The result is a far more natural sounding midrange that results in dramatically improved speech intelligibility as well as vocal performance reproduction. The midrange transducer in each of the three models features a 5-inch cone with a 1-inch coil in a quasi-horn loaded design. Similarly, these three models feature 1-inch HF dome tweeters. For low frequency reproduction, the VIP-08 uses an 8-inch cone transducer, the VIP-10 employs a 10-inch cone transducer, and the VIP-12 incorporates a 12-inch cone transducer. The frequency range for the VIP-08, VIP-10, and VIP-12 is, respectively, 45 Hz – 18 kHz, 40 Hz – 18 kHz, and 38 Hz – 18 kHz.

AV integrators will appreciate the four M6 integrated flypoints offered by the new VIP series loudspeakers—making them a great-sounding, easy-to-position, cost-effective solution for many installations, including restaurants, presentation facilities, classrooms, and secondary areas in houses of worship. Additionally, Grund Audio Design has an optionally available wall mount bracket. To protect the transducer complement, the VIP series incorporate steel, powder-coated grilles. The VIP-06, VIP-08, and VIP-10 loudspeakers are available in both black and white while the VIP-12 is available in black, enabling these loudspeakers to match the décor of many rooms. Further, the name badges on the front of the enclosures rotate for vertical or horizontal positioning. All models are available in mirror imaged pairs for superior stereo reproduction.

Frank Grund, President of Grund Audio Design, commented on the company’s new VIP series loudspeakers, “Our new VIP series is a terrific choice for a wide range of commercial installations. With the exception of the smallest model—the VIP-06—these enclosures are 3-way designs. The most notable difference of a 3-way architecture, as opposed to the more common 2-way design, lies in the loudspeaker’s ability to reproduce a far more natural midrange. Since the human voice falls into this frequency range, the result is noticeably improved speech intelligibility and more natural vocal reproduction overall. Further, the LF transducers on all models are heavy duty designs with large voice coils that deliver a full, rich-sounding low end. For speech and music reproduction, our new VIP series excel. I’m confident installation professionals will find much to like.”

The new Grund Audio Design VIP series loudspeakers are now available. MSRP pricing is as follows:

• VIP-06: $179.00
• VIP-08: $299.00
• VIP-10: $379.00
• VIP-12: $439.00

MSRP for the optionally available model 75-408 wall mount bracket for the VIP-06 is $35.00. MSRP for the optionally available model 75-410 wall mount bracket for the VIP-08, VIP-10, and VIP-12 is $49.00.
