DEVOS 3.0 RELEASED – Changes the video streaming and content management landscape

Discover Video today announced DEVOS 3.0, a new media management and video streaming system for private and public enterprises. DEVOS 3.0 breaks the barrier in price, features, and flexibility for a complete hybrid video distribution system that can be used inside the firewall and on the public Internet simultaneously. Not only does it manage and deliver live and on-demand video and multimedia, but it also includes digital signage, a unique video priority alert system, Roku integration, and more.

“DEVOS 3.0 is perfect for enterprises that need to distribute live and on-demand media efficiently and securely to employees, students, partners, and customers”, said Rich Mavrogeanes, president and CEO of Discover Video. ”In our modern mixed desktop-and-mobile world, DEVOS 3.0 combines the best features of web services like YouTube with world-class live streaming, any-platform delivery, set top boxes, Digital Signage, and Priority Alert.”

DEVOS 3.0 key features include:

1. Hybrid enterprise and cloud video streaming for traffic load balancing and reach
2. World-class multi-screen user interface
3. Live and On-demand delivery to virtually all computers, TV monitors, Roku® boxes, tablets, iPhone®, iPad®, Android and other devices
4. Full enterprise Active Directory integration
5. Digital Signage and Priority Video Alert at no additional cost
6. Content curation from YouTube, iTunes, and other popular content systems
7. Simple creation and management of specific channels by user
8. Integrated DropBox for ultra-easy publishing

For schools, businesses, and government the DEVOS 3.0 system provides a private portal with the ability to customize viewing pages and content, while providing detailed statistics. It can be purchased as both an on premises server or Cloud service. For larger organizations a hybrid approach permits fine tuning live and on-demand video distribution, eliminating any network bottlenecks.

A bonus for schools and universities is the Priority Alert feature, extensively used by the U.S. military. Within seconds, a live or recorded video message can be sent to thousands of network connected computers without end user action, notifying them of impending emergencies, storms or major announcements. The DEVOS 3.0 Digital Signage feature, which displays HD quality live or recording video, text, or web pages on large monitors, is also integrated with Priority Alert.

DEVOS is the first private video system to incorporate the popular, inexpensive Roku set top box into the proposition. The entire live and on-demand video library can be viewed on a under $100 box, making it extremely easy to deploy video everywhere.

The DEVOS applications include distance learning/lecture capture at colleges and universities, flipping the classroom or morning announcements in K-12 schools, video training and executive broadcasts in businesses, and government meeting distribution in towns, cities, states, and federal agencies. It can also be used to delivery live video feeds from security IP cameras located anywhere.

New Triad Speakers InWall Bronze/4 SlimSub is Small in Size, Yet Big on Performance

Triad's new InWall Bronze/4 SlimSub

Unique, space-saving engineering approach makes way for long-throw 10-inch aluminum driver, all from a narrow enclosure with a flat grill that mounts flush to wall

Portland, OR – April 3, 2013 – Triad Speakers, Inc., a leading custom manufacturer of reference-quality loudspeakers for the home, today announced the availability of its new InWall Bronze/4 SlimSub.

Measuring 3-15/16 inches deep to fit into a standard 4-inch deep wall cutout, the flat grill, flush mount design of the SlimSub represents an aesthetical improvement over the model it replaces, the InWall Bronze/4 Sub, which protruded several inches from the wall.

The SlimSub delivers deep bass at high volumes, achieving a maximum output of 109 dB from 40-80 Hz with bass extension of -6dB at 25 Hz. This performance also represents an improvement over the previous model; in fact it rivals that of the company’s larger, 6-inch deep InWall Bronze/6 model.

According to Triad Speakers President Larry Pexton, the company achieved such rich performance by finely-tuning the sealed enclosure to match the excursion of the proprietary long-throw 10-inch aluminum driver employed. Triad engineers also integrated a round steel back-plate that serves to replace the thick MDF behind the driver, capturing more air volume to accommodate the lengthy throw of the driver.

The SlimSub fits into the same cut-out (size “V”) as the company’s other in-wall subs, making it ideal for retrofit opportunities. To further blend with the décor of most any home, the SlimSub incorporates all 3 types of Triad’s Acoustimesh™ grill (wide, narrow and frameless) which the company can custom paint-match at the factory.

The InWall Bronze/4 SlimSub is paired with Triad’s 350-watt rack amplifier (Model # RackAmp 350 DSP) at an MSRP of $1,400.

The InWall Bronze/4 SlimSub is shipping now. Dealers interested in more information can contact Triad Speakers directly at 800.666.6316.

Jason Aldean Takes Clay Paky Sharpys Along on his Night Train Tour

Clay Paky Sharpys are lighting up country singer Jason Aldean on the Night Train Tour, a musical powerhouse of a show also featuring Jake Owen and Thomas Rhett with location specific appearances by Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, and Kelly Clarkson.

Aldean is a double-Platinum recording artist who has had nine singles reach #1 on the Hot Country Songs charts. Bandit Lites Inc. is providing him with 24 Sharpys on the tour along with a pair of grandMA2 lighting consoles.

“The show design by Mike Swinford incorporates a lot of automation,” notes Bandit Lites client rep Michael Golden. “Video panels carry the fixtures.”

Lighting designer and programmer Aaron Swetland calls the show “very dynamic” with “a lot of elements and layers. The automated video screens move in all directions with 24 axes of movement.”

Swetland says the Night Train Tour is the fourth tour on which he’s used Sharpys. “I love that light,” he says. “They have a very narrow beam and great distance. I have them spread out to maximize the effect, and they fill the palette well. It’s great when they work together delivering nice beam angles and great looks.”

According to the lighting designer, a number of stadium shows are coming up this spring, and he plans to add 88 Sharpy fixtures to supplement his inventory.

A.C.T Lighting is the exclusive North American distributor for Clay Paky.

Francesco Romagnoli, Clay Paky Area Manager for North and Latin America, adds, “Mike and Aaron are a great design team and I’m glad the Sharpys are the right fixture for the show, indoor and outdoor.”
