IPsmarx PINless Recharge Portal Eases Addition of Prepaid Offerings

PINless Recharge and Mobile Top Up Help Wireless and Retail Stores Grow Prepaid Business

IPsmarx, a leading softswitch, billing, and prepaid solutions provider, today announced the release of the PINless Recharge Portal that will enable wireless, retail stores and prepaid phone service providers to easily integrate and offer rechargeable international calling services. The PINless Recharge Portal includes PINless Recharge and Reseller Management, Mobile Top Up, and Rechargeable Calling Card solution in one easy to use interface with access for administrators, resellers, and end users.
“Prepaid wireless vendors are already losing business to international phone card and pinless providers. By offering their own brand of phone cards and PINless calling service, they can make money on international VoIP calls in addition to domestic wireless,” said Arash Vahidnia, president and CEO of IPsmarx. “Retail stores using multiple portals for PINless recharge and mobile top up can integrate services into one branded portal, making it more convenient for their resellers to promote. Stores who are reselling another brand who acquire this solution can make significantly more profit, as opposed to just commission.”
The PINless Recharge and Reseller Management software helps wireless and retail stores easily set up their own international VoIP calling service through three easy to use portals. The Admin Portal enables the provider to set up their own discounts and service fees, create their own brand name and design, customize their Interactive Voice Response (IVR) to create your own advertisements, manage resellers and more. The Customer Portal allows customers to sign up, add minutes, and make payments directly online. The Reseller Portal allows resellers to add minutes to customer accounts by phone or in person, sign up new agents, and track commission.
With the International Mobile Top Up solution your customers can purchase mobile time and safely send it to friends and family, to use on a prepaid wireless phone in other countries. Customers can add minutes directly on the customer portal, in person at the retail location, or by calling the reseller and providing the county, carrier and phone number.
“Retail stores need practical products and services that solve customers’ real-time needs. We developed a competitive, fast and simple service, based on IPSMARX solution that allows our clients the ability to offer a reliable PINless service with a solid international Top Up solution,” said Elkin Caicedo, president of Karr Communications. “Our Resellers find the easy to use portals to be the perfect recipe to gain not only the end user loyalty, but reseller commitment. We are providing a non-stressful system which allows them to generate revenue and save time because everything is in one place. We’ve been using IPSMARX platform for more than a year and our business is growing really fast.”
The IPsmarx PINless Portal is available through at www.ipsmarx.com or by calling (703) 779-3594.

RTW Introduces 3G-SDI Interface for TM7 TouchMonitor at NAB 2013

New TM7 Hardware Interface Supports SD, HD and 3G-SDI Formats

LAS VEGAS, APRIL 9, 2013 — RTW, a leading vendor of visual audio meters and monitoring devices for professional broadcast, production, post production and quality control, is debuting its new TM7-HW20714 TouchMonitor, featuring a 3G-SDI interface, at the 2013 NAB Show (Booth C1844).

RTW developed the new TM7 interface in response to requests by audio engineers in the broadcast market for a seven-inch audio metering tool that is compatible with 3G interfacing. The seven-inch size is a perfect fit inside OB trucks and other smaller-scale installations where space is a major issue.

The TM7-HW20714 accepts all SD, HD and 3G formats that are currently available in the marketplace, allowing for seamless integration into TV studios, switching rooms and video post-production environments. It complements the existing custom input configuration of TouchMonitor units, which makes analog, AES3 and AES3-id formats available in various combinations, depending on the hardware version the customer chooses. The through-port of the 3G-SDI interface forwards the SDI input signal. De-embedded SDI signals may be routed to any existing AES output. This new model includes four AES3 (eight-channel) inputs and four AES3 (eight-channel) outputs that can be used as direct AES outputs either to buffer or reroute the AES signals or to send out a decoded 3G audio signal. In addition, now with the 3G-SDI interface, the TouchMonitor TM7 can display up to 32 channels of audio from any combination of inputs.

The TM7 has a 16:9 TFT display and can be delivered as a tabletop or as a half-19” 3U rack-mount unit. It has two USB 2.0 interfaces, a GPIO-interface, RJ-45 ethernet connection, VGA output, a connector for 24 V DC supply, as well as a wall plug power supply option. It includes basic functions such as the pre-installed Stereo PPM software for Peak-, TruePeak- and Correlation measurement, further software licenses providing other instruments can purchased just as the user needs.

BroaMan Showcases Its Repeat Platform Devices at the 2013 NAB Show

Repeat48 and Repeat48CWDM Offer Point-to-Point 3G/HD/SD-SDI Video Conversion

LAS VEGAS, APRIL 8, 2013 – BroaMan, a leading German manufacturer of professional digital video, audio and data network solutions providing routing, format conversion and management for a variety of markets, including broadcast, post production and AV, will exhibit its affordable Repeat48 and Repeat48CWDM plug-and-play video conversion solutions at the 2013 NAB Show (Booth C8443).

BroaMan’s Repeat platform devices convert 3G/HD/SD-SDI (or MADI) signals from coaxial cables to fiber and back. The Repeat family includes the Repeat48 and Repeat48CWDM. These powerful, easy-to-use and cost-effective devices include built-in multiplexers for combining multiple signals onto a single fiber, which in turn can be interfaced to audio and data network systems, including Optocore, SANE, MADI and Ethernet. Both devices are capable of converting two to 24 channels in a single rack space with built-in power supplies, while the Repeat 48CWDM allows for optical channels to be multiplexed and demultiplexed.

“We are thrilled to share the Repeat series with the NAB community,” says Tine Helmle, director, BroaMan. “Whether a broadcast event is live or filmed, large or small, the ability to successfully transport professional high-bandwidth 3G/HD/SD-SDI video, audio and control signals reliably is an absolute must. BroaMan’s technology is based on this specific need and we are happy to offer the Repeat series as a cost-effective solution for scalable audio and video fiber transport.”

Additionally, the cost of the Repeat48 can be at or below the cost per channel of current brick-style solutions that do not include a built-in AC power supply or rack/installation mounting options.

Executives will be on hand at the BroaMan booth to demo the Repeat48 and Repeat48CWDM, as well as the Repeat66 and Repeat33, which are used for flexible applications, rather than in plug-in-play situations. The Route series, which includes the Route66 and Route33 devices, will also be on display. Both of these unique devices are based on an individual customer’s level of complexity and feature requirements.

About BroaMan

RTW Debuts the TMR7 for Radio Broadcasting at NAB 2013

New Four-Channel Metering Solution Offers Parallel Monitoring of On-Air Signals and Other Sources

LAS VEGAS, APRIL 8, 2013 — RTW, a leading vendor of visual audio meters for professional broadcast, production, post production and quality control, is proud to announce that its new TMR7 TouchMonitor is making its U.S. debut at the 2013 NAB Show (Booth C1844) and will begin shipping following the show. Specifically designed for radio broadcasting, the four-channel desktop unit features two AES3 digital (XLR) inputs that integrate all metering options required in radio broadcasting.

The latest introduction to RTW’s TouchMonitor series of cutting-edge metering and monitoring solutions, the TMR7 is based on the TM7 TouchMonitor, featuring a similar flexible, modular configuration. As with the TM7, the TMR7 also includes a seven-inch touch screen and is available as a desktop unit, fitted or as an OEM unit with 16 audio inputs. The versatile TM7 supports all professional audio metering applications.

“The TMR7 TouchMonitor is specifically targeted at users in radio broadcasting environments,” says Michael Kahsnitz, director of engineering at RTW. “It integrates all features required in radio production, two stereo inputs and extensive local configurability in an attractively priced package.”

Separate true peak and PPM instruments, as well as a vectorscope and correlator for evaluating stereo signals, are available on each TMR7 input channel. Licensing options include an extensive loudness-meter implementation (EBU R128, ITU BS.1770-3/1771, ATSC A/85, ARIB) with graphical and numerical single-channel and summing views, as well as loudness range (LRA), MagicLRA and SPL metering. Licenses are also available for an optional real-time analyzer (RTA) and the Premium PPM package with moving-coil instruments.

The intuitive operating concept of the TouchMonitor range offers maximum flexibility. Users can move freely the scalable instruments to any position on the graphical surface, allowing them to personalize the entire screen area. Views, scaling and metering standards are separately definable for each signal source. In addition, the convenient on-screen help function makes setting up the unit simple.

The four audio inputs provided by the two AES3 ports are configurable for mono, stereo or multichannel sources, providing separate instruments for each source. Plus, the GPIO interface for overall control, the Ethernet port and the VGA output for external display units offer further functionality.

RTW will also display its latest 3G version of the popular, compact TM3 meter, the TM3-3G. This unit has 16 audio channels of 3G-SDI and, as with every other TM unit, conforms to the latest loudness specifications. With its budget-friendly base price, 4.3-inch touch screen and stylish exterior allowing for horizontal and vertical placement, the TM3 is a highly appealing, compact alternative ideal for editorial offices, edit suites and small control rooms.

Boise State’s Velma V. Morrison Center For The Performing Arts Puts NanoLumens Center Stage

When the Velma V. Morrison Center for the Performing Arts at Boise State University needed to install a digital display in its lobby to engage, inform and entertain patrons of the Center before, during and after shows, they knew they needed a state-of-the-art display solution that would shine as bright as the performers on stage. That’s why the Center decided to use a six-feet-tall by eleven-feet-wide, NanoLumens NanoSlim 4mm LED display that complements the existing lobby décor, while adding a subtle, yet modern, technological design element.

“The NanoLumens product is unique in the digital display market and we are excited to be their first installation in Idaho at a true performing arts center,” said Morrison Center Executive Director, James Patrick. “It is not only designed and assembled in the U.S.A., but is also ultra-lightweight, slim, and provides vibrant, high-resolution images from all viewing angles. This new addition to the Velma V. Morrison Center lobby is more than a marketing tool, it is a transformative display that will provide a digital canvas to communicate our mission to the Boise community.”

The new NanoLumens display will be used to share useful information to the Center’s patrons in a dynamic and flexible new way, resulting in a more enjoyable theatre-going experience. Content will include upcoming show promotions, artist video content, campus-wide events, student and faculty visual art, images of Boise’s picturesque landscape and other important campus-related information. To avoid mid-performance interruptions, the display will also alert patrons to take their seats as curtain time approaches, and the installation of a high-definition camera in the theatre will provide a closed-circuit, live feed of the show to the lobby display so that patrons arriving after curtain time can watch the show until they are allowed to enter the theatre auditorium.

“NanoLumens is proud to provide Boise State University and the Morrison Center with a state-of-the-art digital display that will stop patrons in their tracks the moment they walk into the lobby,” said NanoLumens President & CEO, Rick Cope. “Our displays are perfect for any facility wanting to instantly engage its visitors with a stunning digital canvas that can brilliantly display any content desired by the owner.”

The display was installed under the supervision of NanoLumens technicians by Superior Signs & Screenprinting located in Caldwell, Idaho, and the wiring and electrical work was completed by two Boise-based companies, Quality Electric and Neurilink LLC.

The display was funded, in full, by the Morrison Center Endowment Foundation, Inc. and is part of the Center’s ongoing efforts, in collaboration with University leadership, to ensure that the Center remains Idaho’s premier performing art center.

NanoLumens displays are extremely slim, ultra-lightweight, energy efficient, and feature a bright, seamless, high resolution picture quality that can be viewed from any angle throughout the display horizon without color shift or image distortion. The company’s patented display technology, promises to transform the way marketers engage their customers in every type of trade show, retail, hospnanolitality, stadium, arena, transportation and public event environment.

All NanoLumens displays accept input from nearly any device or content management system. There is no need for special software, hardware or special personnel to display content beautifully. With a profile of only a few inches, NanoSlim displays can be installed on virtually any surface without being obtrusive, adding the ‘WOW’ factor to any environment without taking up precious space. NanoLumens’ patented display technology is optimized for indoor use, operating with virtually zero heat or noise while producing bright, rich, consistent color as well as superior off-axis viewing with no color shift or image distortion throughout the display horizon.

NanoLumens’ technology has been named ‘Best Large-format LED Display’ of the year by Signage Solutions magazine in its 2012 Product of the Year awards program, as well as being recognized by Entrepreneur magazine as a 2011 future-proof tech trend and cited by The Wall Street Journal in its 2010 Technology Innovations Awards. NanoLumens’ technology also received the 2011 Breakthrough Technology of the Year Award at the American Technology Awards. Digital Signage Magazine awarded the NanoLumens NanoFlex a 2011 DIGI Award for “Best New Display Device – Non-LCD or Plasma.”

UDC Timecode Debuts From HRS Control

High Resolution Systems, developers of the popular UDC (Universal Device Controller) software, announces UDC Timecode, a new feature in the Protocol Translation portion of the UDC Pro Plus package. UDC Timecode enables users to sync UDC control with external timecode or turn UDC in to a timecode generator itself.

“Customers have requested timecode capabilities in UDC for concert tours, tradeshow exhibits and theater installations,” says HRS’s Drew Taylor. “It extends functionality for any project customers want to automate and adds scalability to new projects when they use a timecode automation tool like UDC Software.”

UDC integrates a Kiss-Box LTC and MTC transceiver, which allows users to deploy the standard Ethernet network to distribute SMPTE LTC timecode and MTC Midi timecode to any part of their system. “Kiss-Box enables customers to receive LTC or MTC timecode in UDC and add timecode triggers so they can execute a macro at specific timecode intervals or automate control in theaters, museums, concert tours or theme parks,” Taylor explains. “It’s an additional benefit for current customers looking for timecode driven automation solutions.”

UDC Timecode supports a wide array of timecode-driven devices, including video playback, processors, switchers, recorders and lighting control consoles; it also extends Art-Net protocol.

“Customers can manually enable or disable the external synchronization of timecode and manually drive the event at times,” he adds. “This is useful if one portion of a show is synchronized with timecode and another portion is not.”

Derek Ytreeide, technology specialist with Riverview Systems Group Inc. in Milpitas, California, was one of those who approached HRS Control about offering timecode capabilities to customers. “We needed to implement a complex video playback system in addition to cueing specific lighting commands for our client. UDC was a perfect solution to trigger the video, but we needed it to go further and trigger the lighting cues as well,” he says. “UDC already had an internal timecode generator, so they needed to program a way to send out that signal with Kiss-Box in between.”

Ytreeide already implemented UDC Timecode successfully for Riverview’s client Symantec at the RSA Security conference in San Francisco and is preparing to use UDC Timecode again for their client at the American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) conference in Chicago.

UDC Timecode is available now for customers who have a Protocol Translation license on UDC Pro Plus.
