Core Brands Honored With 2013 Most Innovative Product Award From Sound & Video Contractor

Panamax(R)/Furman(R) Vertex VT-EXT Vertical Power Strip Wins Bold Engineering 2013 Award

PETALUMA, Calif. — Jan. 14, 2014 — Core Brands(R) today announced that its Panamax(R)/Furman(R) Vertex VT-EXT vertical power strip for A/V racks has been named one of the industry’s Most Innovative Products of 2013 by Sound & Video Contractor (SVC) magazine. As one of only 30 solutions to receive the magazine’s prestigious Bold Engineering 2013 award, the Vertex VT-EXT was chosen by SVC readers from a broad array of submissions.

“Our thanks go out to the readers of SVC, who recognize innovation can also come in the form of a product that simply makes our jobs easier,” said John Benz, director of power and accessories, Core Brands. “The unique and ingenious design of the VT-EXT vertical power strip saves significant installation time and costs, while providing critical protection and filtration for costly equipment.”

Ideal for bringing order to equipment racks in busy A/V facilities, the Vertex VT-EXT offers eight outlets including three with transformer spacing. Mounting clips with plastic spacers allow the strip to be mounted vertically to an equipment rack, which helps prevent ground loop issues. This vertical orientation enables integrators to use component power cords of various lengths to save space, eliminate cord clutter and reduce installation time and costs. Additionally, the unit features a detachable 10-foot power cord that can easily be swapped out for a shorter cord.

The Vertex VT-EXT can be used as a stand-alone power strip or as an extension of an existing Panamax/Furman power management component, further extending Panamax and Furman’s advanced protection and filtration technologies to deliver clean, safe power to connected equipment.
